Time to update this I think!!!
My house is modern and well finished with 3 double bedrooms, a large kitchen/ diner/ lounge, a quiet sitting room, nice bathroom and downstairs WC. There is a private back garden with apple trees and fruit bushes and a small front garden with driveway.

Facilities include internet, the use of my car (for the right person!), gym equipment, TV and a large selection of books along with everything else you'd expect (I hope!!). The neighbours are friendly and my family don't live too far away, so if you come to stay you can be as independent as you wish, but can also be well supported should you need it.

All in all, my house is modern, comfortable and ready to stay in!

Quartier

My house is located on the edge of an attractive housing estate full of trees and green space. There is a small local shopping centre with a grocery shop, a pub and a few other shops 2 minutes walk from the house.

Maynooth town is only ten minutes walk away. It's a medium sized town by Irish standards with the exception that it's the location of the oldest and largest Religious college in the country and a modern university with 8000 students. The college grounds are full of historic buildings, a 12th Century Castle (with free guided tours!) the most beautiful church in Ireland, playing fields and gardens.

Maynooth is a classic Irish town with a good selection of pubs (with plenty of Irish music), restaurants, hotels, shops and a nice park. There are 2 large modern shopping centres at either end of the town including Tesco, Dunnes Stores, Aldi and Lidl.

The commuter train to Dublin has its terminus 5 minutes walk from the house. Trains to Dublin can take either 25 or 45 minutes depending on whether you take an express or not. There are also regular buses to Dublin and intercity buses to the rest of Ireland. Maynooth is just far enough away from Dublin to be quiet, but close enough to Dublin to get there easily if you choose.....if anyone wants to learn more about all the things to do in Dublin I'll let them know!!

The main road that links Dublin with the West of Ireland runs past Maynooth. Using this road, you can be on the Altantic coast in about two and a half hours.

I'm Gary, a 28 year old Irish primary school teacher. My interests (in no particular order) include running (I'm training to run the Dublin Marathon in October 2011), football, learning different languages, history and archaeology, music, socialising, diving, skiing, and all of the other things 28 year olds enjoy!

I've spent the past 2 years putting my time and money into making my house a nice place to live, so I understand the level of attachment many people have for their homes. I will treat anybody else's house with the same level of respect as I would my own, and would only entertain similar people staying in my home.

Destination

I'm a teacher and enjoy travelling during school holidays. My dates for 2012 are as follows:

January 2nd-9th
February 11th-19th
March 30th- April 15th
July/ August

I'm open to going anywhere and will be sure to reply to all inquiries. I don't mind a bit of travelling to and from the airport and enjoy "non-touristy" areas off the beaten track.
