Maison

We have a comfortable low-set, 30 square, brick house (with no steps) built in the 1970s. It has a recently renovated modern kitchen and 2 bathrooms. Our ducted air-conditioned home has a garden, fish pond, plenty of parking area and a back yard, 4 bedrooms (the main bedroom with an ensuite), spa bath, family room, sun room, office, piano, video recorder, large 46 inch TV screen, clothes washer and dryer, dishwasher and a computer with broadband internet access.

Our home is four miles from the centre of Toowoomba city with a population of 100,000. Toowoomba is the business centre for an agricultural area known as the Darling Downs. It is really a beautiful city, renowned for its colourful gardens & parks. It is recognized as The Garden city of the State of Queensland, with an annual Carnival of Flowers week during September each year. Toowoomba is within 90 minutes of the Queensland capital, Brisbane, & within 2 to 3 hours of the Gold Coast (Surfers Paradise), the Sunshine Coast and the Bunya Mountains noted for their indigenous history. Where we live our neatly kept neighbourhood is in a quiet part of town within walking distance of convenience shops, parks and public bus transport. Neighbours, particularly those next door and the people of our street are friendly and helpful. Toowoomba is an educational centre with numerous private, public and boarding schools catering for students from western areas of Queensland. Our vibrant University of Southern Queensland attracts many overseas students. Our city is the really a big country town with many cinemas, restaurants, arts and cultural centres and scenic walks and is close to national Parks to be explored from campsites, popular with tourists.

Ivan & Noelene Nugus are aged 65 & 63..school teacher & diversional therapist. We have 5 sons & 3 grandsons. Two of our sons live permanently in UK..Danny Kathryn & Little Zach in Cheltenham & John in London..He has a lovely English Girlfriend Anna. Kathryn, Zach & Sam are also English. Ivan's parents were born in UK & as he is keen on genealogy an extended stay in UK is what we need. Ivan enjoys barbershop singing & Noelene enjoys music & playing the piano.

Destination

We require a simultaneous exchange in the UK. We are looking to spend 2 to 3 weeks in various parts of the UK during July to September inclusive during 2011 & 2012
