Warm 2-storey, 1400-sq.ft home located in Cap-Rouge, a calm and green suburb of Quebec City. Our house is equiped with all modern facilities (dishwasher, TV/DVD, etc). Three bedrooms and one bathroom on the 2nd floor; living room, bathroom, and kitchen on the 1st floor. Patio with table, umbrella, BBQ and small pool. Playground for young children.

Enjoy the myriad of cultural and historical activities in the Quebec City area. Old Quebec is only 20 min away from our house, and there are many natural and scenic attractions within an hour drive. Four of our favorite activities are:

> Old-Quebec: Both the old lower town (Quartier Petit Champlain, Place Royale, the Old-Port) and old upper town (the Chateau Frontenac, Parliament, Plains of Abraham, Citadelle, and surroundings) have kept much of their 17th-, 18th-century look and are very pleasurable to visit. > Parc de la Chute-Montmorency: the Montmorency Falls facing the Île d'Orléans are quite enjoyable. There are belvederes and trails to allow visitors to tour the falls. http://www.sepaq.com/ct/pcm/en/

> Ile d'Orléan (Orléan Island) and Côte-de-Beaupré (the piece of land facing the island) are beautiful and picturesque countrysides with many agricultural attractions (strawberry fields, orchards, vineyards, etc.). http://www.iledorleans.com/eng/

> Jacques-Cartier River Nature Park: This section of the Jacques-Cartier River, set within the Laurentian mountain range, flows within a gorge and offers a striking landscape. Quartier

Our semi-detached house is located in Cap-Rouge, an historic suburb of Quebec City which is both quiet and charming. There are many city parks, restaurants, shops and boutiques nearby. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cap-Rouge,_Quebec_City

Plage Jacques-Cartier (Jacques-Cartier beach), a 30-min trail with very nice view of the St. Lawrence River and its two bridges, starts from the Parc Nautique de Cap-Rouge which is only 2 min from our house. At the Nautical Park you can rent sailboats, catamarans, pedalboats, canoes, and kayaks to explore the Cap-Rouge river bay and the St-Lawrence River.

We are a family of five. We both work for research groups affiliated to Laval University, Myrto as a statistician and Pierre as a protein chemist. We have two sons, Ulysse (9 years old) and Raoul (5), and one daughter, Indiana (7).

We have been home-exchanging since 2003: with a French family in Toulouse in 2003, within Canada in 2004, 2005, 2008, and 2010 ; and in the US in 2006, 2007, and 2009 (Vermont, Massachusetts, NY). We have been very pleased with all our exchanges so far as they have allowed us to meet interesting people and discover new landscapes and ways of living.
