Maison

One bed room hotel suite with a connecting door and adjacent studio bedroom. The exchange can be for the suite or the studio or both. The suite has a small parlor, kitchen, full appliance and partially furnished cooking/serving utensils.
The unit has a beautiful ocean view. There is a one time $40 check in fee and once week maid service unless you request daily maid service which is $15 per day. The hotel is a full service hotel, with 2 restaurants/bars, swimming pool, health club and laundry facilities. Daily newspaper, hotel night club cover charge and internet access is included in each bedroom.
The unit furnishing is contemporary and well maintained.

Quartier

The hotel is across the street from the most popular local park and best beach in Honolulu. It is adjacent to one of largest shopping centers in the USA with every major national and international store. The shopping center has over 50 restaurants from fast food to 5 star restaurants and caters to oriental menus and other international fare.
Since the hotel is located adjacent to the shopping center, public transportation is readily available to downtown, Waikiki and other visitor attractions. Those attractions and Waikiki are also a short walking distance.
The hotel is on the fringe of Waikiki, the major tourist hotel/restaurant area where prices and congestion tend to be higher. Our hotel is favored by locals, businessmen and airline personel.

I am a semi-retired businessman with a wife. We have traveled extensively but would like to spend more time in one location to better understand the local people, culture, food, geography and diversity of each region. We would like a "home base" exchange in order to take day trip and overnight trips within the region. Our interest include art, architecture, paleoanthropology, ethnic food, cooking/wine, live theater, jazz and classical music.

Destination

Our unit is available most dates, if we and our friends/relatives are not using it and this does not have to be a simultaneous exchange. We sometimes travel with friends but most of the time together. Our dates are flexible but our preference is spring and fall after/before the tourist season.
