Quartier

The village is very pretty, and the house is just off the picturesque main square, which has several pubs, and restaurants, and a supermarket, so everything is very convenient. The village has a playground, tennis courts, pitch and putt club, and boating on the lagoon. You can fish for mackerel, and catch crabs off the pier. Or go to the Warren beach which has nice sand dunes, is sheltered and safe for swimming. The village is just one hours drive from Cork City (Cork Airport and Cork ferryport), and is well situated for touring West Cork . It is a very pretty area of Ireland, and very nice for walking and cycling. Its a great area for watersports (sailing, surfing, windsurfing, whale watching, scuba diving, kayaking, fishing - sea, and freshwater, ). The area is renowned for good food that you can get at the local markets each week ( fish, shellfish, cheeses, yoghurts, salamis, vegetables, etc.) There is an award winning restaurant in the village, and many other excellent restaurants throughout the area.

À propos de nous

We have four young children, a girl aged 11, and boys aged 9, 7 , and 5. We live and work in Cork City but go to the house in Rosscarbery most weekends and during school holidays. The kids love going down to the beach to look for stuff in rockpools, or play in the sand dunes, or swim. We like to go on walks, or go cycling, or go fishing off the pier.
We have gone on holidays to France each summer for the last ten years, so you can see we like France, and we can speak some French - though we probably should be better after all that time.
