Maison

Our period timber home is a charming and peaceful haven, and perfect for a couple. Gorgeous natural light and comfortable furnishings make it a wonderful relaxing retreat. Air-conditioning and gas heating leaves it cool in summer and cosy in winter.
The kitchen is fully equipped with all you require to make a feast, and both kitchen and laundry appliances are new and of good quality.
There is a bath with shower upstairs, and a shower downstairs for when you are sandy from swimming in the beach!
Two bedrooms upstairs, one with a king-size bed, the other with a roll out double futon for guests.
Both the house and the garden are compact and very easy to maintain. The garden is fitted with a watering system that recycles bath and shower water. Two bicycles are available for use.


Quartier

Our home has a wonderful location in bayside Albert Park. It is 5 minutes walk to a great swimming beach and across the road from a park. It is 250 m from the tram into central Melbourne - a 15 minute ride. There you will find museums, theatres, clubs - whatever you fancy. Trams also take you to cosmopolitan St Kilda, which is a 40 minute walk along the beach. There are numerous flat, easy-riding bike trails, and plenty of parks including Albert Park Lake: home to the Grand Prix in March.
Albert Park has some of Melbourne's finest examples of Victorian architecture, so walking through the quiet, tree-lined streets is a pleasure.
Melbourne is known for great food, and there are plenty of local restaurants, cafes and shopping. Wonderful fresh produce can be found at South Melbourne Market, and a terrific farmers market happens once a month in the park opposite.

Dan is a numismatics consultant, and Anne is an artist.
We are looking for a home exchange to Germany in 2010 for a minimum of 6 months.
Dan is a German citizen and is keen to visit his homeland again. Anne wishes to pursue her art career in Europe.
We would prefer a light, comfortable country retreat in Bavaria, but are open to all offers of home exchange in Germany.
We will also be looking for an exchange property in New Zealand in 2011 for a minimum of six months.

Destination

Our exchange would need to be simultaneous. We are flexible with dates, but would ideally like to leave Australia before February 2010. We would love to live in the countryside in Bavaria, but are open to all offers for exchange in Germany in 2010, and New Zealand in 2011.
