Our open-concept main floor has a large living dining-area open to a kitchen with hickory cabinets and all appliances. Patio doors open to a spacious deck with BBQ overlooking Conception Bay and Bell Island. Three steps up to a full bath, two bedrooms, and a half-bath. Master bedroom opens with patio doors onto a balcony Downstairs a family room, library, or guest suite with full bath, picture window overlooking the bay. Laundry and utility area. A path at the end of our back yard leads down to the sea; a twin muskoka chair awaits you at the shore to look out at the sunsets. Paved driveway for two cars and paved parking space for one or two guests. Easy to remove snow in winter downhill in every direction. This could be ideal for a couple or small family enjoying a sabbatical semester or short-term assignment in St. John's.

Quartier

Our neighbourhood is a medium density residential area for people that enjoy informality and lots of space. On both sides, a wooded area separates us from our neighbours. Group mailbox is just at the edge of our lot. As you drive into St. John's you enjoy views over Conception Bay and Bell Island. The city is about twenty minutes away, with university, shopping centres, theatre, concerts, and restaurants.

À propos de nous

I am a retired minister and my wife is a nurse consultant doing international nursing education projects in Latin America. We are both interested in wood-working and our workshop includes a lathe and several power woodworking tools. We like reading and our bookshelves are well filled with both fiction and non-fiction titles. In summer we enjoy camping, walking, and canoeing.

We would be interested in discussing an exchange with someone who has a house or apartment in Hamilton, Dundas, Ancaster, or Burlington, Ontario, for the same period as our house would be available to you -- January to April or January to June 2010.
