Maison

New England may be experienced full force in our 3,700 square foot, 3 acre beauty of a home. Our home has the feel of a luxury ski lodge and is perfect for a family or couple looking to get away to quintessential New England experiences. Something for every season: 2 person Jacuzzi baths, long steamy showers in our walk-in shower, dips in the pool, peaceful sleeps due to the quiet, bonfires (s’mores!) and cross country skiing out the backyard. The house is set back via an acre of land and a long, uphill driveway. An Infiniti QX56 for use (3 car garage if you have car). The yard stretches for 300 acres of conservation land, 1/2 acre of our own on either side of the house for complete privacy. The conservation land is perfect for hiking, ATVs, and cross country skiing. Our private land is perfect for skinny dipping, sunbathing, bonfires, soccer/football games, sledding down the front hill and deer and turkey hunting. 5 plasma TVs are spread throughout. Our kitchen is large and modern with stainless steel appliances. Dining room sits 8, eat-in kitchen sits 4 plus kids table for 2. Of the many magnificent details in our home, a favorite is the huge master bedroom (king bed) and bath (claw foot tub, two sinks, walk-in shower): located on the first floor for extra privacy from the other 3 bedrooms on the second floor. We have a finished basement, complete with a sectional leather sleeper sofa, 42" plasma, as well as a mahogany full wet bar for enjoying sports games on the 19" plasma behind the bar! One of the upstairs rooms is a nursery complete with a crib. Upstairs is an office with scanner, fax and computer. Outside, wood decks lead down to the pool and hold a grill and a 7 person outdoor seating area (under a bungalow). A beautiful sunroom with three large leather armchairs is all sky lights with floor to ceiling windows and French doors. These all open up and allow magnificent breezes to waft in. Perfect for a late afternoon cocktail with a great book, or a boardgame

Our home is set in a cul-de-sac, and is truly a neighborhood. Most people have either dogs or children and chat while they pass each other walking around the block after dinner. One mile up the road (walkable route) is a lake used for swimming, sailing, kayacking and canoeing or for iceskating and adhoc hockey games. Points of interest: 3 ice cream shops within 5 minute drive, Boston is 45 minute drive, 3 ski areas within 30 minute drive, white water rafting, camping and outlet stores all within 1 hour drive. Maine beaches are within 2 hour drive. Note: we are centrally located in New England but on the "wrong" side of the all the summer, fall, winter traffic to the beaches and ski areas. During fall, there are plenty of places for apple and pumpkin picking. Every turn is colors full of fall foliage! Our neighborhood is very quiet and at night all we see are stars, fireflies and all we hear are crickets.

My husband and I have a one year old son and we are currently trying for #2 to give our son a playmate. My husband is a dual business owner, so we try to make the most of his precious time off by traveling anywhere that will offer us culture, relaxation and a bit of luxury. We are willing to travel with or without our son as he has two sets of eager grandparents! Both my husband and I enjoy watersports, going out to dinners, a great glass of wine and a good book. I enjoy a bit of a city scene, such as an opera or a show, where my husband would be content to spectate at any type of sporting event. As a family, we enjoy taking long walks, hikes and bike rides. As a stay-at-home mom, I love whipping up a great meal and trying new recipes. My husband is an avid deer hunter. We do like to socialize, but on vacations, we pretty much keep to ourselves as we get little time together during his busy work weeks.

Destination

Our dates are flexible. We just insist upon someplace clean and a country and county that is safe to Americans.
