I have a very nice one-bedroom apartment, hardwood floors, oriental rugs, AC, TV, DVD player, all computer, all the amenities. You will be one block from the river on a salt marsh, near Inwood Hill Park, Saturday farmer's market year-round, supermarket nearby, diverse community, friendly neighbors who say hello, and all this just 30 minutes from Times Square, 40 minutes from the West Village. Easy access with two subway lines, Metro North trains into Grand Central and up the Hudson River, express bus to the Upper East Side. Walk to the Cloisters and Ft. Tryon Park. We have a wonderful neighborhood restaurant/cafe right at the corner of the park where you can hang out, or take a beach chair and sit on the grass nearby. Or if you get enough of that at home, spend your days exploring the rest of Manhattan.

I've traveled quite a lot and have an apartment with lots of crafts from many countries, but mainly Mexico. I have two Persian cats who would be part of the arrangement, but my small dog would go across the street.

Quartier

Inwood is as far north as you can go in Manhattan, on the Harlem River, wide sidewalks and very quiet safe streets. It's a diverse community of Dominican, Irish, Mexican, yuppies, gay couples, interracial couples, you name it. Columbia University has all its athletic fields and football stadium here, which provides even more local color. This is why we love it.

À propos de nous

I love to travel but the cost is skyrocketing. For the last few years I've been going to Rome where I've made friends and volunteered at a wonderful place called Torre Argentina, a cat sanctuary in the center of the city. Mexico is probably my favorite country. I work at home doing transcription of conferences, interviews, videos, etc., and my vacation is very important to me. I would like to experience some new destinations, meet new people, and in the process enable each other to explore a new place. Prefer cities and towns to countryside.

Destination

I am already committed for 10 days in Paris in September, 2010. Interested maybe next spring in Mexico, San Miguel de Allende, Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, or Oaxaca (where I could make a side trip to Puerto Escondido).
