Maison

Our home is in the resort town of Lake George, in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York. It is a four year old, custom-built 5 bedroom home with two full baths, central A/C, two large decks overlooking a well-landscaped lawn, and two car garage. We have a brand-new Hot-Springs 6 person hot tub in a separate knotty pine sun room, and a 24' round above ground pool right off the lower deck. The house is 2,100 square feet total, plus a completely finished basement which is a game room and extra living room, adding another 1,700 square feet of living space.

The house is complete with three large televisions, including one ceiling mounted in the master bedroom. Most floors are cherry hardwood and plush carpet, except the bathrooms and sun room which are ceramic tile. The kitchen is all custom, including cabinets, island, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, and also has a 4 person table with handcrafted stools. The dining room has room for 10 people, and is very bright and sunny. The upper deck has entrances into both the dining room and the sun room, and stairs down to the lawn, which is large enough for kickball games and anything else. The lawn tapers down to a wooded area which has a beautiful stream which runs down to Lake George not far away.

This house is well suited to accommodate a single couple or a whole family up to 8 people in comfort. There are lots more amenities, just yours to explore!

Our house is on a 1.5 acre lot in a small cul-de-sac carved out of the woods, with only two other houses nearby. It is very quiet and serene, yet it is only 1/2 mile away from Lake George and it's famous "Million Dollar Beach". Lake George is known as the "Queen of American Lakes" and was just recently featured in a four-hour segment on "The Today Show" as one of America's best vacation resorts!

Less than one-mile away is the Village of Lake George, with dozens of shops, restaurants, parks, free outdoor concerts, and entertainment venues. Nearby activities on the lake include visiting one of 5 nearby beaches, three parks, excellent bike trails, mountain hikes, and scenic overlooks. Just to the south of Lake George is the Six Flags/Great Escape/Splashwater Kingdom which draws visitors from hundreds of miles away for summer fun. Other fun activities within a few minute drive are horseback riding, whitewater rafting and tubing, parasailing over the lake, charter fishing on the lake, fly fishing in nearby rivers, over 10 nearby golf courses, and much more!! À propos de nous

Our family is comprised of myself and my husband Dave, and our two children Brendan (10) and Dalia (7). We also have two dogs and two cats (all of which will be kenneled for a swap). I am a first grade teacher in a nearby town, and Dave runs the county Soil and Water Conservation District. We like to travel when we can, and want to visit lots of other places around the country and the world.

We all love the outdoors, including hiking, swimming, walking in the Village, and just enjoying time at home.

Destination

This can be a non-simultaneous exchange, with flexible dates in the summertime. In winter, we can only do the Thanksgiving holiday, the Christmas holiday, or the April school break. Summer is wide open for us. We always like to go to warmer climates in the wintertime, but can do anywhere in the summer.
