Maison

We live in a semi detached home on the South side of Newbury in a residential area and minutes from the countryside with lots of wonderful footpaths. The home was built in 1930 near the brow of a hill with garden views from the garden side of the house and the ruins of Donnington Castle and parts of the town from the 1st floor and attic. The ground floor has a living room, computer room, shower/loo, large bright eat in kitchen with glass double doors walking out onto the deck with BBQ, wood table and chairs facing the long landscaped garden of 100feet. The first floor (or next floor), has 3 bedrooms and a bath/shower/loo. There is a double bed in one bedroom and singles in the other two. We would prefer a couple(s) but a small family is welcomed as well. Our home is very cosy and has been our family home for over 10 years now. We also have an attic which is semi converted with a dvd/tape player (lots of dvd's and tapes to choose from), sorry we don't have a TV option.

We are located in the market town of Newbury, Berkshire, 40 minutes south of Oxford, 40 minutes from Stone Henge, Avebury etc…1.5 hours West of London, 1.5 hours East of Bath, 1.5 hours from the south coast, just minutes from bus station, train station, supermarkets and lots of shops like Marks and Spencer, Next, Boots and more.

Our neighbours a friendly and our neighbourhood is family orientated. We value family life and would expect others to keep our home clean and safe, as we would always endeavour to respectfully do likewise.

À propos de nous

I am American married to an English man for 30 years. We have 3 grown children and have lived in this part of England for 26 years now. My husband is a gardener who works locally and I am a teacher working with Adults with Learning Disabilities. I have worked for Newbury College for over 15 years and have delivered lots of sessions free lance in drama, movement and music. I love my work and I am a family orientated person who loves the outdoor life but my dream is to one day live near the sea. We visit my family in Marlboro N.J. at least once a year and this year we thought it would be wonderful to exchange with someone who would like to explore England while giving us a chance to stay by the sea and give my mom a break as we would like her to stay with us as much as possible.

Destination

Our dates have some flexibility as we depart from London Heathrow to Newark on 19th of August and depart Newark on 9th of September. We would like to exchange with someone who has a place on the New Jersey Coast not more than 2 hours from the airport.
