Maison

Our house is tastefully renovated with exposed oak beams and polished wooden floors. The house is a traditional village home. It is light and airy and is finished to a high standard with a modern kitchen (dishwasher, washing machine, espresso machine) and 2 bathrooms (shower). It‘s furnished with antique pieces that we have discovered at local Vide Greniers mixed with modern finds. Our comfortable double bedrooms are equipped with high quality French linen with fluffy white towels. We have a double sofa bed in the lounge area which means that 5 could sleep in the house. During the winter months there’s plenty of free fire wood for our log burner, electric heaters in every room plus electric blankets to keep you cosy in bed. At the front of the house there’s a sunny terrace perfect for dining alfresco and watching the world go by. We have a BBQ if you feel like cooking at home!

Quartier

Our home is situated in Vayres in the heart of French countryside in the Perigord National Park. Vayres is a traditional French village with two bakeries, a butcher and local café all within a stones throw from our house. The area’s lush green fields, swimming lakes and forests are a haven for wildlife and birds and perfect for walkers, cyclists and sportsmen. There are several fabulous local restaurants and weekly markets (both day and night) but if you prefer you can drive 30 minutes to the cosmopolitan city of Limoges (famous for it‘s porcelain), packed with busy bars and city style eateries. You’re only 45 minutes from the Cognac region and Angouleme and one hour from the world famous vineyards of Bordeaux. A day trip away are the picturesque Dordogne towns of Sarlat, Belves, Monpazier and the stunning town of Beynac featured in the film ‘Chocolat’ A hire car is essential to explore the area.

Mark works in the renewable sector as a wind farm developer and Mhairi-Ann is a TV producer of food programmes. We have a young son called Magnus and are both food & coffee fanatics.

We have both travelled extensively and we also lived in Australia for several years.
We would like to swap our chic French cottage for something similar in Corsica / Italy / Sardinia for summer 2009 and Australia for Christmas / New year 2009 / 10

Because this is our holiday home we can offer you a longer exchange simultaneously or non simultaneously. We have taken great care to ensure that our cottage is very well equipped, spotlessly clean and is a real ‘home from home‘.

Je suis un producteur de TV de nourriture et mon Mari - la Marque - est un entrepreneur de ferme de vent. Nous avons un 8 mois vieux petit garçon (Magnus). Nous avons dépensé notre lune de miel à Corse il y a 2 ans et nous sommes tombés dans l'amour avec l'Ile. Nous voulons dépenser maintenant plus pour chronométrer explorer et apprécier les nourritures de la région.

Nous cherchons un 14 ou 21 échange de jour à Corse de 13e septembre 2009 - troisième Octobre 2009 bien que nous pouvons être flexibles sur les dates.

Nous pouvons vous offrir un simultané ou non l'échange simultané pour notre chaumière de village dans Vayres 87600 France (Haute Vienne).





I am a food TV producer and my Husband - Mark - is a wind farm developer. We have a 8 month old baby boy (Magnus). We spent our honeymoon in Corsica 2 years ago and we fell in love with the Island. We now want to spend more time exploring and enjoying the foods of the region.

We are looking for a 14 or 21 day exchange in Corsica from 13th Sept 2009 - 3rd Oct 2009 although we can be flexible on dates.

We can offer you a simultaneous or non simultaneous exchange for our village cottage in Vayres 87600 France (Haute Vienne).

We are both very active people and enjoy swimming, road cycling, sailing and walking. We have travelled extensively and lived / worked in Australia for 2 years and wish to continue travelling with our young family.
