period style house,recently renovated, 4 bedrooms,decorated to high standard.Situated 2 miles outside the heritage town of Abbeyleix,co Laois.this town is located in the midlands and is 60 miles south of Dublin,and 60miles east of Limerick(Shannon airport).approx 2 hour driveto Cork and a little longer to Galway and the west of the country,I would recommend a car in order to explore the surrounding area.
The town has a golf club and tennis club with 2 equestrian centres within a five mile radius, a Seve Ballesteros designed golf course in neighbouring Killenard.It has numerous pubs and restaurants,a library and 2 small supermarkets.The attractive city of Kilkenny is approx 25 miles with its beautiful castle and excellent restaurants.The Slieve Bloom mountains are a ten minute drive and the neighbouring town of Durrow and Vicarstown are excellent for fishing. The nearest town of portlaoise has a very good public pool and leisure centre.Just thirty miles away the famous curragh racecourse,national stud and japenese gardens in Kildare.I would think that the location would be suited to adults who are interested in travelling,walking,golfing etc.rather than a family who might find it harder to amuse young children who might prefer an area nearer the sea,

The house is located just off the main Cork/Dublin road. the town is a very convienient location to see more of the country as it is right in the heart of the midlands,but obviously not for someone who wishes to be near the sea. a car is a defenite necessity as there would not be enough in the immeadiate vicinity to occupy one over a period of afew weeks and the local supermarkets would be a fifteen to twenty minute walk on quite a busy road.

I am a mother of three boys and an interior designer.I am open to many destinations but I would need to stay in a neighbourhood where there would be enough restaurants,shops etc within walking distance as I am not confident enough to drive on the opposite side of the road.

dates are flexible.cape cod, south of france,italy,england,particularly the areas of bath and cornwall.
