Maison

The "Captain York House" is a former B&B with seven bedrooms and looks out over the Harpswell Sound where you can also see out to the open ocean in the distance. The huge covered porch is the perfect spot to sit, relax, read or just watch the lobster boats tending their traps.

Quartier

Enjoy our vacation home on Bailey Island in Harpswell, Maine. A fishing village in coastal Maine with shops and restaurants nearby. You are one hour from Portland's airport and convenient driving distance to all points up and down the Maine coast....but why ever leave the island? It's the perfect vacation spot to relax, take long walks, go bicycling, and enjoy the salt air. The renowned Cook's Lobster House restaurant is a short walk down to the end of our street.

Doug (CPA) and Nancy (retired) are in our fifties, have two adult children and love to travel. We split our time between our principal home in Arlington, VA (also available for exchange) Bailey Island, Maine and other trips abroad. Interests are gardening, traveling, bicycling, soccer, antique cars and motorcycles.

Destination

We are presently seeking a three-week exchange in South Africa for the 2010 World Cup, for which we have tickets to 3 first-round matches, one round of sixteen and one quarterfinal. Simultaneous or non simultaneous with either our Arlington, VA home which is bicycling distance from downtown Washington, DC or our Coastal, Maine home.
