Maison

Our house is a one-year old custom built home. We have a yard with small plants and two terraces. We designed the house on the "great room" idea of a large open living, dining and kitchen area with a den at one side and a master suite (bedroom, bath and dressing room) at the other. A partial second floor contains three small guestrooms, two of which are equipped with bedroom furniture, and a full bath. We have a large American-style kitchen with full refrigerator/freezer and icemaker. The house has ceiling fans throughout, and the master bedroom is equipped with air conditioning. Our television is equipped to receive European satellite TV, including several English and American channels.

Quartier

Our house is located in a brand new subdivision situated five minutes walk from the local castle. We are on a hill directly above Landstuhl, which is a large village or small town. The town has numerous good restaurants most of which are within walking distance. The town also has a good municipal swimming pool, a local bus system, and train connections to all of Europe. We are on the edge of the Palatinate Forest, the larges national forest in Germany, and within a one-hour drive of five major wine regions, four in Germany and one in France. Biking and hiking trails are everywhere.

À propos de nous

We are Tom and Sarah Letnes. Sarah is a teacher for the American Armed Forces school system, serving at Landstuhl Hospital. Tom is a tour guide for American servicemen through the USO. We have two grown children living in Chandler, AZ and Rockville, MD. We are interested in trading for Christmas and summer school vacations. For this summer (2007), we are looking for something near Minneapolis as Tom is having shoulder surgery and will need to be available to the doctor for about six weeks. We also have an extensive library of travel materials covering most of Western Europe.

Destination

As mentioned in the last section, this summer we are specifically interested in the Minneapolis area because of the surgery and a sister of Sarah's who lives in Plymouth.
We could be interested in other Christmas or summer vacations in either Chandler, AZ or Rockville, MD.
