Waterfront home

Modern executive three bedroom home that includes your own private dock, small beach, multiple decks and gardens and sunset views over beautiful Trout Lake in northern Ontario. The home is a bungalow design (3000 square feet on two levels, 360 sqm) with two large bedrooms, living room (complete with wood burning fireplace), dining room, kitchen and den on main level and another bedroom, games room and office with a walkout on the lower level. The master bedroom includes a three piece ensuite bathroom complete with a garden door access to the private outdoor hot tub overlooking the lake. Our home was recently newly decorated and pets and smokers have not been part of our desired lifestyle.

The house includes an attached two car garage and it is located on a private gravel road shard with twelve other homes on the water. Deer and other wildlife are abundant in the area and literally across the road there are practically unlimited snowshoeing and cross-country skiing trials. A later model Audi A6 and 17 foot fiberglass runabout could become part of the exchange arrangements.

The Lake

Trout Lake is a spring –fed deep lake that is about 18km long and 3km wide with many bays and peninsulas. The lake is connected to Talon Lake which provides another 14km or so of navigable waterway by powerboat. Hardier souls have been known to canoe/kayak the 80km chain of lakes that lead downstream to the Ottawa River. The Area

Our home is located about 5km from the small village of Corbeil and 12km from the small city of North Bay, population of 55,000. North Bay is situated between two lakes and sits in traditional cottage country surrounded by many other lakes, spectacular fall colors in the surrounding forests and winter recreational opportunities from early December till March. North Bay is located approximately 330 km from both Toronto and Ottawa and is a multi-cultural, self-contained university/college community with many opportunities for recreation and culture. Regularly schedule one hour flights to Toronto and beyond are available from the North Bay airport.

Who we are

I am a business professor on sabbatical and my wife is a nurse manager. This is the first time we have done a home exchange but we hope to do more in the future. Our home will be available between September ’09 and April ’10. We are interested in exchanges during that period in either the south of Spain or France.
