Maison

The apartment is about 35 sm. with a lot of windows and light coming in from the outside. It is equiped with a television/stereo(adapt to pc) and has a little kitchen and a nice bathroom with a shower. There is a double bed (high-sleeper). The view is very nice looking out on a museum and a typical dutch canal. It is located in the center of Amsterdam and approx. 15 min from the central station. There will be a bicycle available while you stay here. The tram stops in front of the house. The buildings in the neighborhood are all quite authentic and there is a park on the other side of the canal.

It is a perfect location to see the sights of Amsterdam, but at the same time feel like you really live in Amsterdam amongst the locals (local cafe "de groene olifant").

Quartier

Allthough the area is central in Amsterdam it is still quiet and everything you need is nereby. Supermarkets, park, university, trams etc... The people living here are quite diverse, ranging from families to students.

I am Master student (23) Social Psychology. At the moment I'm writing my final thesis.. whilst doing this I would love to stay in a nice new environment. The reason I would like to do the house exchange is because I"m continuing studying next year at an Art academy and have to save up for that! I speak Dutch, French and English. My interest is very much into discovering new cultures and people.. it's not for no reason I"m soon to be a social psych... ;)

Destination

My preference goes to the United States... But any reactions/responses are welcome! It is important though the location is central/city and/or that there is transportation available.
