Maison

Our updated, tastefully decorated 1970's home situated on an acre property on a no-through pretty street, is spacious, very quiet, tranquil and very private, being completely surrounded by a massive cedar hedgerow and other varied plants and trees with a peek a boo view of the North Shore Mountains. The interior is allergy-conscious with laminate floor throughout and carpet only in the Master bedroom, and has leather furniture in the living room. The master bedroom is 17' by 17' with a two piece ensuite. The other bedrooms are single bed, about 12 by 11 feet We are in the exclusive North Grandview Heights area of South Surrey/White Rock. Surrounding neighbourhood of mansions. Pure, clean artesian well water for making excellent tea, coffee, drinks.
Enjoy morning coffee on the large porch surrounded by greenery, birds singing, and a peekaboo view of the North Shore Mountains. We have an espresso machine and burr ginder for coffee at it's freshest possible!
Borrow our spare car to the local beaches, or park at the nearby bus loop to go direct to Vancouver on the "351" bus.
If you'd like to stay while we are in town, we can offer hospitality to you and share the space. We have a spare bedroom, but we are not a B and B, just a nice, professional family.

Quartier

South Surrey/White Rock. White Rock is a beach community on Semmiahmoo Bay and is about a 10 minute drive. South Surrey surrounds White Rock area and is an affluent neighbourhood in general. Our immediate area is one of the most affluent areas of South Surrey, so the people are generally pleasant to be around. We live in an area of acreage homes, some dating from the 70's and 80's and some newer prestigious mansions. . We are just up the hill from blueberry farms so in August, you can feast on fresh blueberries! We are also close to an upscale brand new shopping village - 4 minute drive or about a 15 minute walk. Also, close to South Surrey markets and many farm markets in the area. Living here is a holiday retreat in itself!
We are 30 minutes south of Richmond BC and 5 minutes north of the Peace Arch border crossing to USA. Our postal code is v3s 0a8 so you can look it up on the map.

À propos de nous

We are a friendly, pleasant educated and professional family. We live a quiet life. We speak English only, but grandpa speaks Italian. Senior parents live independently in attached but separate in law suite. We have a cat and 2 Shetland Sheepdogs.
We value good food, good wine and the arts. I am an elementary school teacher, our young-adult children are in post secondary ( one just graduated). We both work full time, but I have my 2 month summer vacations, which would free me up to help you see Vancouver and the area if you were to stay here when I'm in town.

Destination

This can be a non-simulataneous exchange and the dates are flexible. They can also be during Winter Break or Spring Break as my holidays are congruent with school holidays.
My polite, quiet young-adult children also live at home so the house would likely be shared.
Senior parents live in the separate suite, independent of the main house, but attached. They would take care of our pets.
