Maison

Beautiful mountain community hidden away from everyone in the Los Padres National Forest. Hour and a half drive to downtown Los Angeles, Hour drive to Santa Barbara, but far enough away that you have wildlife in the front yard every morning and can see all the stars at night.

Its a vacation community mostly with barely 2000 full time residents. Quaint local shops, the town surrounds a beautiful golf course. There are horses, hiking trails, or you can just sit on one of our two decks & feed the birds while you listen to the wind blow thru the pines. Truly a spectacular place.

The town village is within walking distance and has a General Store, Local Pub and a number of resteraunts.
Or:
You can take a beautiful drive down to Los Angeles and take in the sites, do all the touristy things (I still do!!) or go spend the day at the beach.
You can also drive to Gorgeous Santa Barbara & take in all the fantastic things they have to offer as well.

Quartier

My neighbors are amazingly sweet, but rarely here. These are their 'weekend' homes and they usually only come up on vacations. I have multiple bird feeders in the back, so I spend quiet mornings and afternoons on my back deck being serenaded by multiple song birds.

The local Village is full of super nice people from all walks of life and areas of the world. Have a pint @ the local Pub or run by the local store, grab a picnic lunch and hike or drive up to Mt. Pinos and take in the breathtaking views.

Don't be surprised (or scared!) to find a Brown Bear in the yard in the early evenings or early mornings...they're more scared of you than you are of them...but please don't feed them!!! We like to keep our wildlife as UNSPOILED by us as possible to keep them safe.

We also have a family of deer that feed in our yard in the afternoons with the twin does they had last season. On the deck, you'll find more than enough willing Bluejay's to beg you to throw them a peanut as well as a covey of quail waiting for you to throw out some seed if you're so inclined. If you're lucky, the Jay's will even land on your hand to take the nut!!

Further up my road there is a path to hike that will take you back into the woods to the most amazing waterfall...I truly live in a magical place!! It sincerely is like being on vacation everyday!!

We're a typical American family, as normal as normal can be....but I guess that makes us abnormal, doesn't it? LOL!!

Destination

In Ireland, we're open to almost all exchanges, but would prefer a small town that we won't get lost in, we want to meet the locals and experience Irish culture, stories, legends and lore...
