Haleakala. 4000sf custom designed home bordering State Reserve tropical forest, with lotus ponds, swimming pool, waterfalls, sliding walls of glass, fine custom home, granite, marble, limestone, fabulous Master Suite next to waterfalls, His and Hers Baths, Great Room with views opening up to mature gardens, gourmet cook's Dream Kitchen, meditation room, 52" HDTV, Sterio/CD . Temperatures average around 75 to 85. Home appraised at 1.7 million. Lot's of artistic creativity and great indoor outdoor living, lot's of light and huge windows, The upstairs has the Master Suite with double baths, Great Room, kitchen and spectacular view dining, and this all opens to the patio, pools , lotus pond and gardens. The downstairs has another bedroom and my 2 home offices and 2 more baths plus utility room and entry gallery/porte cochere. The home is at the end of a hilltop cul de sac, and there is driveway parking. The property borders 1000 acres of State Reserve on the mountain side and sweeping 180 degree views of the ocean and 11,000 ft, Haleakala on the horizon. Great sun rises and moon rises. A/C is not really needed and we have fans and mountain breezes.

Centrally located at the top of a slope in a cul de sac, with lot's of privacy in the pools and gardens, Five minutes to Iao Valley river & fresh water pools, 7 minutes to Beaches and boat harbor, close to dining, shopping, 20-25 minutes to major resorts, visit Tedeschi Winnery, fabulous snorkeling, kayaking, boating, swimming, all water sports, visit Maui's 17 microclimates, and hike the spectacular State and National Parks. We are 5-7 minutes from world class golf and restaurants.

The exchange is for 2 of us, in our 40's and 50's, a wholistic couple, an acupuncturist/cranial sacral therapist and an entrepreneur, artist and architectural designer. We love nature, hiking, organic foods, music, dancing, reading, wildlife, our dog, and we long to be in the mountains or forest by a lake or river and redwoods or evergreens. Trees, mountains and water are important to us. We have lived many places: India, Greece, Sri Lanka, France, N. Africa, Bali, Santa Fe, Taos, California.

We look for homes and surroundings that have character, beauty, quality, and privacy, and we love towns in the Alps and Himalayas, Mt Shasta and Northern california..

One of us speaks french fluently myself just a little.

Destination

We want to be in Northern California anywhere from Mt shasta to mendocino, to Sonoma County for several weeks to several months starting in summer 09. Privacy, trees, lakes, mountains, rivers, in a beautifull well appointed home with character, of any size. We are looking for a new permanent home in Northern california and this will give us weeks and months to scout around. This is also for R & R and retreat, we may wish to bring our small sophisticated 14 year old dog( who is an angel).
In the fall 09 or winter 2010 we want to travel to Ecuador, and Peru to the Andes for a few months.
Non simultaneous exchange is possible.
We are ready to go to Northern california any time from July onwards. Northern California is really our long term goal and then Ecuador. Trips to the Alps or greece are also of interest for a month or more per location.
