Maison

our home is a split level bright modern dormer house with wooden floors and tiles throughout. rooms are bright as there is alot of glass on south facing side to gain from passive solar energy. it is set on three acres lovely garden, trees and lawn for ball games. on the lower tier there is a wooden playhouse with a drawbridge that leads to an adventure centre. we have two pet horses and stone stables in a yard on the property. we grow our own potatoes and vegetables and have fruit trees in the lower garden. there is central heating throughout. all rooms are spacious two large plasma tvs downstairs in the sitting room and kitchen. a wide range of channels are available. the kitchen is big with all modern conveniences provided. there is a cosy sunspace off the sitting room which is a perfect place to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee and look out on the lovely flowers and butterflies. there is a music system and enclosed fireplace in the sitting room. the library is a cosy room with relaxing sofas ideal for getting lost in a quiet summer read. the main bathroom has a large shower area from which you can gaze out at the local mountain view through a perfectly situated corner window. there is a double bed in the first bedroom with generous wardrobe space. the second bed room is on the highest level with two comfortable single beds wardrobe and dresser. there is also a walk in hot press across the hall and the final door leads to the master suite which consists of an en suite bathroom with jacuzzi bath, shower and sink and toilet. the bedroom itself has large windows looking out to the comeragh mountains to the west and the sea to the south. there is a rocking chair in the alcove of the west facing window from which one can watch stunning sunsets in the evening. there is also a walk in wardrobe and a wardrobe, chest of drawers and two lockers in oak wood. the king size bed is also in oakwood and has a well sprung mattress, the same is true for all the beds in the house.

Quartier

we are in a quiet village five km from tramore town and twelve km from waterford city. we are on the copper coast -an area of beauty, heritage and great geological significance. unique beaches abound, the nearest two being two km in either direction from the house. summer walks are organised to local, natural and historical features. there is a mini farm with tea rooms and go karting facility 200m from the house. the local pub and restaurant are 5mins walk and there is a good family menu. another picturesque pub and restaurant in dunhill has regular music sessions as do several other country pubs in the locality. the ten km coastal drive to bunmahon is magnificent. an award winning bog and nature reserve are situated beside the church in the village. there is a boardwalk from which the fauna and flora can be appreciated. there are several quiet country walks in the locality. tramore provides all the activities associated with a seaside resort including surf schools, swimming pool, rides and amusement park, promenade, an expansive beach, cycling, canoeing, horse trekking and a championship golf course. there is a horse racing festival in mid august on tramore racecourse. other enjoyable family day trips include picnic in the comeragh mountains, ferry to ballyhack to the beautiful hook peninsula and lighthouse, historic and beautiful lismore town and castle, the famine ship dunbrody in new ross, world famous waterford crystal factory tour, museum of waterford treasures and reginalds tower in waterford city. waterford city has good shopping in the pedestrianised city centre. there are numerous reputable restaurants in many cuisines. a 10 screen multiplex cinema, great theatre, music, dance and song to be enjoyed at several venues. on august bank holiday weekend waterford hosts its annual street festival "spraoi" with amazing street performers of international acclaim. it climaxes on the monday night with a wonderful parade and fireworks display. you can have it all.

i am a primary school teacher and my husband is a pharmacist. we are forty three years of age and have two children aged ten and eight. the oldest is a boy and the youngest is a girl. our pasttimes include horse riding, cycling, swimming, body boarding, football and hurling, walking in nature and music. we are particularly interested in traditional music and love to go to music festivals. brendan plays golf in tramore golf club. he and aodan like to follow the football and we support liverpool. aodan plays soccer in the local club. we are also interested in gaelic football and hurling and follow the championship throughout the summer. we have a horse and a pony and our children take part in pony club activities but mostly we like to ride for pleasure in our beautiful area. aodan plays traditional fiddle and tin whistle. cliodhna plays tin whistle and piano. she also does ballet at a local dance and drama school. there are loads of summer camps in the area to suit all tastes including soccer, gaelic games, dance and swimming, canoeing, music. we love to go to fota wildlife park an hour and a half away by car and also to run amuk play centre and lazer blast in tramore. the pottery place in tramore is a fun creative place for a rainy afternoon. dunmore east adventure centre run summer camps in all sports including kayaking, archery and rock climbing. there are lots of gardens to visits in the locality. there is also a fun train ride twenty minutes away that we have enjoyed on many occasions since our children were very young. we enjoy photography and all have handy sized digital cameras. i was born in this area and my family live close by. one brother farms, another works with horses and my two sisters work in the city but live nearby.

Destination

we want a simultaneous exchange. our dates are as specified above in the month of aug. only. we would like to have bikes at our disposal and a car for four people. we would like to be in the west, nantes, la rochelle area would be first choice but somewhere in france with temps. between 25 and 35 degrees celsius. we would like a clean house with all the usual facilities to make our holiday relaxing. a pool would be really nice.
