Maison

This is a three storey house built in 1848, which is 200 sq metres in size with long back garden. There is a very well equipped kitchen with dining area in the basement, adjoining a sitting/play room and access to back garden. There are two large rooms in the middle floor, one used as a library cum dining room overlooking a beautiful park and the other room is used as a double bed room or sitting room. Upstairs are two large double bedrooms. There is one large bathroom on the return upstairs and a utility room and shower room in the downstairs return. The back garden is large and north-west facing so it gets good evening light. Across the road is a well-maintained park with a nice play ground. The house is on a square surrounding the park. It is a busy road but the house is well set back from the road and the shutters and curtains ensure a quiet nights sleep. The accommodation is very flexible and the rooms can be used in different ways, depending on how many people stay in it.
Because of the way the house is laid out, it is suitable for a family with children or teenagers, but equally suitable for an adult only holiday. There is good storage for all the toys!
The kitchen is very well equipped with two ovens, a good fridge freezer and dishwasher. There are plenty of gadgets for those who enjoy cooking! The basement is very family friendly and the TV is in the play room here, with DVD as well.
There are plenty of comfortable chairs and couches in the house, as well as good comfortable beds. Each of the double rooms has a double bed, and one of them has a single bed as well.

Quartier

The house is located in a central suburb of Dublin city, so it is only a twenty minute walk from the house to the centre of the city. It is close to all forms of public transport. Across the road from the house is a lovely old and very well looked after park with space for children to cycle and play, as well as a playground. The view of the park from the house gives a great feeling of space.
Although located on a busy road, the house is well set back from the road and so is not noisy inside.
There are lots of restaurants-Indian, Italian, Irish within a five minute walk and very many more restaurants in town, which is a short trip on the train or bus.
Some of the best food and wine shops in Dublin are a five minute walk from the house, and people come from all over the city to shop here. Literally everything you need to cook is available locally.
The neighbourhood itself is a quite mixed, with some young families, some older families and some of the houses are in apartments, so there is also a changing student population.
Overall, it is a very convenient neighbourhood with lots of amenities on the doorstep and good access to public transport and the main sites of Dublin.
There is satellite television and wireless internet access as well as a Mac desktop computer with guest access.

I live with my husband and two daughters aged 12 and 9. Both my husband and I are doctors and our girls are in school locally.
Our favourite holiday destination is France and we usually go once a year for two weeks, but we are open to any other suggestions.
