Maison

The apartment sits ( 100 square meters + outside ) is downstairs from a lovely house . It is very bright with EXTRA large sliding windows opening on the deck and garden. It has one bedroom with a large bed, another room that I use for yoga and gym, so lots of floor space, a DVD/TV, but no hook up to satellite, ADSL 24/7.
The kitchen is fully equipped, washer and dryer for clothes. The large sliding door open on a nice terrasse and garden where you can nap or prepare a BBQ.
Up to six people can easily sleep in the apt, but there is only one large bed in the bedroom. Kitchen is fully equipped and there is a washer and dryer, but also a garden to dry the laudry and have a bbq. View 180 degrees on lagoon airport in the distance, and Caribbean OCean.
Rolling shutters is the way to go if you feel too hot during the day. But most of the time, the Breeze will keep you cool. One resident cat at this point (she is old).

Quartier

Located in a residential area on a hill, 10 minutes from MARIGOT, French side and 15 minutes from Philipsburg, dutch side, close to the beach, but also the shopping area, the nightlife, yet quiet with security 24 hrs a day. Public transportation down the road (5 minutes walk).
Very friendly neighborhood, safe for children. The Neighbours upstairs in thehouse ( a couple in their fifties) are long time friends, have 2 dogs and a few cats.
THe view from the main room and the garden is fantastic, everlooking the lagoon, the ocean, and the airport in the didtance, striking at night also. Enloy the best of what this dual nationality has to offer from a very convenient location.
Lots of americans/South Africans and French people live in this neighborhood. SO it is cosmopolitan and multi cultural, although people tend to keep their home to themselves as there are so many "cool" spots to mingle and meet people only minutes away.

I am in my fifties , semi-retired traveler/adventurer/sailor/diver/massage therapist. I live by myself most of the time , with an occasioonal guest, couchsurfer or else.
As my relatives all live in France, I like to go visit and spend some time in the SOuth of France. I love the mountains, hiking, and also the markets, good food, the PRovence....but willing to discover Spain, Italy.
As I am busier in the winter , from December till April, I am more interested in exchanging MAY till November, but am open to other times....Let's talk !
In 2009, i AM sailing from St Martin to the AZORES then the MEDiterranean in MAY , I am looking urgently for a place to stay in the SOUTH of FRANCE, from June 15th on...
