Maison

We have a lovely one level (with basement) historic house in Happy Valley, Labrador, Canada.
This house was built by one of the first three people to move to Happy Valley.
We have three bedrooms on the main level, all with the original hardwood floors from when the house was built. There is an additional 'bedroom' in the basement, where we have full laundry facilities. One bed is a queen, two are doubles, and there is also a futon.
We have full kitchen services, and comfy brand new living room set. Included are a 32 inch flat screen tv with cable, dvd, vcr, Xbox 360, Wii, and Stereo. We also have two desktop computers and wireless internet access. Each of the bedrooms, as well as the 'room' in the basement has a color television. The bathroom is a bit small, but does include a decent sized bathtub, and shower. It is a lovely bright shade of orange. In addition we have exercise equipment including full weightlifting set in the basement, as well as an attached garage full an amazing collection of tools.
If you visit in the winter, we can arrange for a snowmobile for your enjoyment. If you prefer the summer, we can provide a canoe or kayak.

Quartier

Our house is located directly in the middle of Happy Valley. Our yard sits directly on the riverbank, were you can enjoy a variety of summertime activity, some of which include canoeing, kayaking, or sandbar barbecues. If you have children, they will love going to the creek and seeing the small fish (guppies) jumping out of the water, or the variety of frogs and toads that get tapped in the window well that they can rescue. In the backyard, we have another house where my uncle lives with his dog. He will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have, or lend a hand if you have difficulty with anything. We are a 2 minute walk from a drugstore, major grocery/shopping store, and electronic store, as well as 3 churches. Within five-ten minutes, you can walk to a post office, two banks, a variety of convenience stores, liquor store, primary school, and an elementary school.
Everyone around town is very friendly, and always say 'hello' as you walk down the street, and if you would like to know where anything is, everyone will have an answer for you, so don't be hesitant to strike up a conversation as you take a lovely walk.

Our family consists of myself, Heather postal/drugstore worker; my husband, Kristopher, originally from Nova Scotia, who works at the grocery store, my sister, Heidi (13) who loves animals and shopping, and my father, Tony, who works in the sheet metal trade. We also have an 11 year old dog, Odie, who acts 4 or 5!
