Maison

Come and explore beautiful Victoria whilst staying in our comfortable, warm family home on the outskirts of Melbourne. The beautiful, tree-ed area is a haven for colourful parrots and many kangaroos can be seen not far away. There is a Koala sanctuary close by. Many streams flow into the rivers and parks abound. Our house has three bedrooms and a study, a large lounge/diningroom and a modern black granite and stainless steel kitchen with an adjacent TV room. It sleeps 5 comfortably, and 6 easily. We have 2 dogs who usually stay home, with a friend feeding them whilst we are away. We are situated in a very quiet cul-du-sac and back onto a nature strip. There is a bbq and a fantastic wood-fired pizza oven at the back verandah. We have an outdoor spa where you can sip champagne, whilst watching the parrots during the day, or the possums overhead at night. It is a 45 min train ride into city central, or about 30mins by car.

Quartier

Melbourne is a fascinating city – a blend of modern and Victorian architecture. Magnificent malls have all the latest fashions, and side-walk coffee shops abound. There are many beautiful beaches in Melbourne, and the Great Ocean Road is spectacular. The train, tram and taxi services are really very efficient and allow for easy access into the city. Cars are very reasonable to hire, and flights to Sydney and further afield are usually on special. The Yarra Ranges Wine Farms are 15 minutes away. There are many public golf courses.

Come in January and watch the Aussie Tennis Open! The Grand Prix is on in early April! Lots to see and lots to do! Melbourne really is a must-see city!

I am a teacher and John is in the Freight business. We have 2 children - Shayne, 24 is in marketing and Cayli, 21 is studying to be a teacher. John & I (54yrs old) travel between our home in Shanghai, and our Melbourne home - so, have the best of both worlds! Both these homes are available for home swops.
