Maison

This is not our permanent residence, but one of our holiday homes which we also rent out as a business, so it is fully equipped as such. The house is situated in the Hemel-en-Aarde (heaven and Earth) Estate, just 3km from the village centre.The house is only 50m away from the Estates' facilities which include a gym, clubhouse, 20m pool, tennis and squash courts, putting green and more. The master bedroom has a king size bed, sitting area, air-conditioning and full en-suite luxuriously fitted bathroom. There are a further 2 bedrooms downstairs each with twin beds that share another full bathroom. The bathrooms have underfloor heating, free-standing baths, double vanities and frameless showers. There is an open plan lounge and dining room which seats 8, with a gas fireplace. This leads onto a covered patio with a barbeque and patio furniture. There is a TV lounge upstairs, with satelite TV and DVD player.(there is also a TV in the downstairs lounge). The TV lounge has a double bed sleeper couch as well as air-conditioning, and leads onto a large deck overlooking the estates facilities. The kitchen is fully equipped with all appliances both large and small incl dishwasher. We own several cars, so a car would be included in an exchange.
Upmarket finished and furniture have been used in this house. The Estate offers 24h security.

Hermanus is known as the whale-watching capital of the world, as this majestic creatures come to mate and give birth in our bay every year from June to November. At peak season in Sept/Oct, up to 144 whales have been recorded in Walker Bay!. Hermanus has much to offer the holiday maker besides whale watching: from scenic walks along white sandy beaches and cliff paths to excellent restaurants and wine estates in the Hemel-en-Aarde valley (starting right at the doorstep to the Estate which the house is situated in). Hermanus has much to offer the adventure lover: surfing, kite-surfing, boating, hiking, paragliding, sandboarding, horse-riding, quad-biking and more. Hermanus also has museums, craft markets, farmers markets, quaint shops and excellent restaurants. It is centrally located, with Cape Town only 1 1/2 hours drive away, as well as many great towns and villages only 1 hour away on both the coast, and inland to the winelands.
The House itself is situated in the hemel-en-aarde estate, and there are good restaurants and a wine shop within walking distance.

My name is Rosanne, and My husband is Scott. We have a 4year old daughter Madison. We would either travel only the 3 of us, or with a few friends, to a maximum of 8 people, incl children. My husband is a property developer, and I am involved in the guest house and accommodation business, owning 2 guest houses and several self-catering houses, including this one on offer which I rent out and manage. We both LOVE travelling, and now that we have a daughter, we feel a house would be more suitable than hotels. We both love the outdoors and seaside holidays, but are open to suggestions.
We love the East, but also am interested in traveling to Europe and any warm, tropical climate.

Destination

We are flexible in that the house is not our permanent home, but one that we rent out, so non-simultaneous exchanges are possible.
