Maison

Our home is family friendly and has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. You'll enjoy our deck and private swimming pool during our sunny, warm weather. In fact the secret in California is that the beaches get foggy in the summer, so you are better off being inland than on the coast!

Our house has a comfortable, casual style. Here's a description of the house from one end to the other. The master bedroom has a queen bed and attached bathroom with a shower. Our son's room has a twin bed and is full of toys, games and books. There is a bathroom with a bathtub a few feet down the hall.

Next is a family room, a living room, a formal dining room, a kitchen eating area and the kitchen.

There is a door that can separate the next part of the house if more privacy is desired. The third bedroom has two twin beds and the third bathroom is next to this room and has a shower. There is a laundry room next to this, with a door to the backyard and pool. This bedroom, bath and laundry have a separate door leading from the kitchen, which allows for more privacy.

Our pool has just been remodelled and also has a four foot high child safety fence around it.

We have a garage with remote control for the car. There is a basketball hoop and tether ball game set up in the driveway, so it is very safe for children.

The living room has a television with DVD and VCR players and Cable TV. The master bedroom has another cable TV. There is a washer and dryer, air conditioning, dishwasher, microwave and computer with internet access. We have an upright piano in the laundry area.

Quartier

We are in California in the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area. Walnut Creek is a city with extensive shopping, restaurants and recreation facilities. You'll be a short drive to 2 BART stations (think Tube or Metro) and can be in downtown San Francisco in 35 minutes. It is an easy drive to Napa or Sonoma Valley for wine tasting, to the Pacific Ocean (for beautiful beaches), Monterey and the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Further away are Yosemite National Park and Lake Tahoe.

Our neighborhood has many families, parks and local shopping. The closest shopping center has a sports store, a coffee shop, a bakery, stores and several restaurants. Downtown Walnut Creek is just a few minutes away by car, and has movie theaters, a performing arts center, stores of every type, a large shopping center and many, many wonderful restaurants. Walnut Creek is the hub for many local cities since it has so much to offer.

À propos de nous

Henry, 48, is a financial analyst with a bank. Meg, 50, used to work in high-tech, but is now a mom at home. Chris is 9 years old and well-behaved.

We have traveled quite a bit (with Chris!) and this will be our second home exchange. The first was outside London in Summer 2008. Meg's mother may join us - she travelled to Australia with us and was happy to share a room with Chris if necessary.

We enjoy travelling, movies, outdoor activities like walking. Chris plays baseball, and loves science- especially outer space. We are avid readers, enjoy music and socializing with friends.

Destination

We would like to spend some time in Paris if possible, but are open to other opportunities in France.
