Maison

Hi

The house is very old and if you have any interest in medieval history, you will love it. It is built into the ramparts of the old town. The kitchen is huge, with a brand new kitchen fitted and an open fire place which houses a traditional godin wood burner.
The living room, also large, the same size as the kitchen is fully furnished, traditionally french, with plenty of books and movies at your disposal, and a 42 inch plasma tv. There is also a wii available. There is a total of 5 sleeping rooms, 2 of these are quite small with a single bed in each. There are 2 double bedrooms, and a mezzanine, that we use as a play room, but there are bunk beds available here. There is a bathroom off the kitchen, with a seperate toilet, with an additional toilet up stairs. This is a very interesting house, and everybody that visits, absolutely loves it. It really is a piece of history, having been buit in the 1300's.

Quartier

The neighbourhood is tranquil, except on Tuesday and Saturdays when the market comes to town!! On Tuesday, the market is local produce, clothing and all things french, from thick quilts to Rotis chicken. Saturday is the local brocante, flea market. Interesting items abound!
We are just over the road from the river, where you can swim when its warmer, and le dugas chapel, is a short walk up hill, giving amazing views over the whole area and is the heart of the village. The whole of the cevennes is on the doorstep, with spectacular views a short drive away.

À propos de nous

We are a family of 4 Alison who is Scots and Cyril is French. We have 2 daughters and 2 cats.
We both work as saisoniers, Cyril at the local canoe company and Alison until now has been working at Canvaschic a yurt campsite in the Ardeche.
We are both essentially Londoners, having both grown up there, we moved to Scotland in 1997, and then on to France in 2005. We are now looking to move to Australia, and we all have a touch of the gipsy spirit!!!

We all speak French, but at home we speak in English.

Destination

We are hoping to move to Melbourne before the year is out. We are coming to Australia next week, so are not hopeful of finding somewhere with such short notice, but you never know. There is no particular stipulation on the accommodation we are offered, we seek a bed and a shower, and something to cook on, nothing more. So I have my fingers crossed, that one of you lovely aussies are on your way to the south of france next week!!!!!
