Maison

This beautiful home was built in 1874 as an ungraded school house in the quaint little village of Benzonia. It has been remodeled into a home and still maintains the integrity of the historic elements: high ceilings, beautiful fluted moldings, and even has a claw foot tub. It is located on a large corner lot, has a large patio, small coy pond, and flowerbeds to dazzle the eye. Within walking distance of the local village shops and six blocks to the next village located on beautiful Crystal Lake. We are located 9 miles from the Lake Michigan Shoreline where you can enjoy boating/sailing, para sailing, fishing, glider soaring, hot air balloon rides, swimming, art galleries, and assorted dining facilities. We are just thirty minutes from the Traverse City experience where you will find opera, malls, clubs, and the Grand Traverse Bay. Winter activities include hunting, fishing, skiing, snowmobiling, and horse drawn carriage rides.
We have two lovely old Golden Retrievers in the home.

We are located in a sleepy little village just 9 miles from the beautiful Lake Michigan Shoreline. In the summer flowers cascade from window boxes in the shopping areas. Sit on the patio and enjoy the many birds and butterflies while watching the vintage car clubs pass. Enjoy the concerts in the park. This is a vacation resort area and the population swells with tourists from around the country. Activities include bicycling (new bike trails connect the local villages to the lakes),sightseeing is popular and includes sights like lighthouses, candy factory, Gwen Frostics, numerous galleries, and eateries. The month of July brings the Grand Traverse Cherry Festival with parades, concerts, and fireworks. Interlochen Center For The Arts feature celebrity concerts throughout the summer.

My husband and I are both Master Gardeners and love to spend time in the gardens. We grow perennials, unusual evergreens, herbs, and vegetables. I am an interior decorator and it shows in my home. I love to travel and have traveled extensively throughout Europe.

Destination

My dates are flexible. This does not need to be a simultaneous exchange. I would love to revisit Paris, the Rhein region of Germany, and the Alps.
