Set in countryside overlooking small picturesque village of Plaka with every modern convenience for a relaxing family holiday. Own secure gardens - pool share with 4 others. Within minutes drive of beach resort of Almerida. Ideally situated for walkers, families, archaeologists. Car park. The villa is on a small site of 5 villas.

Quartier

The people in this West part of Crete are very friendly and welcoming to tourists. They were occupied during the 2nd world war and are very warm towards the British. The beaches at Almerida (a Blue Flag beach) and Kalives are wonderful and safe for children. The village of Kokkino Chorio is 10 minute drive away famous for the filming of 'Zorba the Greek'. Lovely view to the sea. Ideal for hikers. Car necessary although regular buses from the beach to Chania city.

À propos de nous

We are a couple in our sixties, living in Cheshire, England. We enjoy crafts, walking, geneology, reading, historial sites. The home we offer is our holiday home in the village of Plaka, 1 km from the beach resort of Almerida in the west of Crete which we had built 2 years ago. We use it twice a year with our family, (grandchildren, 4, 6, 8) and let it successfully the rest of the time. Ideally we would like to swap somewhere remote and peaceful in Scotland/Wales/Cornwall for a week in June/July. In 2008 we hope to swap for Cambodia Laos or Vietnam for a longer break in February.

Destination

This can be a non-simultaneous exchange as it is our second home. We prefer Scotland in June this year for our UK break.
