Maison

Our home is a cozy yellow brick house only 15 kilometers from the center of Copenhagen, the fun and beautiful capital of Denmark, which is easily reached by either car or train. Also, you need only drive for 45 minutes to reach the shores of Sweden. The size of our home is 1,250 square feet (116 square meters). Our home is clean, light, open and has a very spacious feel to it. The heart and center of our home is our big combined family and dining room which also contains a fire place. Additionally, our house also contains a master bedroom, two children's rooms which are combined bed-and playrooms, a well equipped kitchen, a bathroom with shower and tub, and a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Our home also have a TV with a tons of channels and free wireless internet access. Another great advantage is our big green garden complete with apple trees, as well as swings, a slide, a sand box and a wooden play house for the kids. The garden also contains a big wooden terracce equipped with furniture and a barbeque, which provides for excellent outdoor dining. Our garden is about 11,800 square feet (1,100 square meters). Our house is perfect for those who want to stay in safe, child friendly and quiet surroundings and yet be close to everything the city of Copenhagen has to offer.

Quartier

Our neighborhood is safe and serene and inhabited by a nice mix of families with kids and couples whose children have left home. Our house is within five minutes' walking distance from a lovely recreational area full of trees, a creek and two nearby lakes. This is perfect for strolls and bike rides. Our area is characterized by a strong biking culture and thus full of biking trails everywhere. We are also only three kilometers from a habour and a lovely sandy beach where it is perfect to go for a swim.

Besides from being close to the center of Copenhagen, Taastrup is also a nice little town in its own right. We have a big and well equipped supermarket within walking distance as well as Taastrup main street which is characterized by restaurants, cafés and speciality stores, located only five minutes by car from our house.

À propos de nous

We are a family of four who would love to go back to Santa Barbara where my husband and I spent a year ten years ago as exchange students at UCSB having the time of our lives. My name is Elsebet and I work as a high school teacher, teaching English and Danish. My husband Christian is an economic consultant and works for a public organization. We have two lovely children, Rebecca who is seven and Axel who is three. When we lived in Santa Barbara my husbond and I developed a great passion for hiking and all sorts of ourdoor activity as well as wine tasting. We also enjoy music, literature, films and a good meal in the company of family and friends. Other places on the beautiful Californian coast alse have our interest.

Destination

We mainly wish to go to Santa Barbara, California, but we would also be interested in the Bay area, Santa Cruz, Carmel and Monterey. We prefer to stay for two months, but if someone in the mentioned areas would like to swap for one or two weeks only that would have our interest as well.
