Maison

Our spacious, 5-bedroom home has plenty of space for you to invite along friend/relatives it easily sleeps 14+. We have a large open plan kitchen/breakfast room/family room with expanding table for up to 10 people, separate dining room for 8 to 10. Family room has stone fireplace and French door to deck with awning, dining table and gas grill. Library and quiet living room on same level.
Upstairs - master suite with king bed and Jacuzzi tub, three other large bedrooms with double beds: one with extra bunk, one with extra twin bed and one with pullout futon. Full bathroom and a laundry room.
Basement does not feel like a basement with 11’ ceilings, wall of windows and walk out French door to yard with shaded stone patio. One bedroom with queen bed and full bathroom. Very large 30’ recreation room with pool table, foosball table and wrap around couch with pullout double bed (full).
Although all are children are teenagers we do have some infant equipment - crib, high chair, changing table, toys and books available for our younger guests.
Maid service can be arranged.

Quartier

The home is located in a quiet cul-de-sac in Bethesda 3 miles north west of the Washington DC line. This upscale suburb has over 200 restaurants, a live theatre, boutiques and parks. Neighborhood park is 1 block away, with recently renovated children’s playground and tennis courts, soccer and softball fields, and basketball court. Easy access to the center of Washington, DC by car (30 mins.), by Metro (20-25 min.) or via Bike trail. Metro can be reached by walking (20 mins.), by ride-on bus (5-minute walk) or by car, with large public parking garage in Bethesda.

This is a great location to explore Washington, or other location on the East Coast. Washington has endless cultural sites, tours, museums many with free admission. Many historic estates and famous civil war battle fields within a 1-2 hours drive. One hour drive to Sky Line drive in Shenandoah national park, 3-hour train ride or 4-hour drive to New York City. On the not so cultural or scenic side there are two amusement parks close by with mega roller coasters etc.

We are John, an American working for an international organization in Washington DC, and Rosemary, originally from England and a recently retired pre-school director. We have three boys, Ian 19, is a college student, Brian is 18, also a student and knows almost every sports statistic imaginable. Jeff is 14 and spends his time perpetual motion. All the boys are interested in almost all sports, and video games. We love traveling to interesting places.
