Quartier

The South Shore of Nova Scotia is a delightful destination. This home is located on the Lighthouse Route 15 kms from Lunenburg, home of the Bluenose and a UNESCO Heritage Site, with galleries, pubs, restaurants, museum, whale watching, folkharbour.com , 20 kms from Mahone Bay (Wooden Boat Festival, musicatthethreechurches.com) and within easy access of at least four wonderful beaches, many nature trails, and the LaHave Bakery. Bridgewater is 20 kms upriver with shopping and good groceries. Halifax, the provincial capital, is 90 kms up HWY#103 with theatre, museums etc. There is hiking in Kejimakujic National Park, bird watching on the shores, and the area is well known for its arts and music festivals. There are four excellent golf courses within a thirty minute drive, in particular Osprey Ridge, but all are scenic and open to the public.
But the gratest appeal for this home is its beautiful location and immediate surroundings.

À propos de nous

I am a medical professional, close to retirement but still working in Bridgwater. I am English by birth, Canadian by adoption and Italian at heart as I attended school in Trieste when young. Amongst my interests are music, food, wine and travel. My travelling companion is a retired executive conveniently located up the river. He shares my interests in the finer things of life and enables a non-simultaneous house exchange.

Destination

Dates are flexible,as the exchange can be non-simulateneous and Nova Scotia is at its best in the summer months. My first choice is to revisit Italy spring 2010, to fall(September / October) in Italy preferably Trieste, Venezia, the Alto Adige and Tuscany (not all at once) - I am relearning my Italian. My companion speaks excellent French and we plan to revisit Paris and the wine areas in the next little while. We would love to visit Bordeaux and Burgundy, the Rhone Valley.....
