Maison

Ours is a 2-story Spanish-style home in a safe and friendly neighborhood 4-1/2 blocks from an uncrowded beach in southern San Diego. All comforts provided: Gourmet kitchen, large master retreat with two balconies, deluxe 6-person hot tub, large front and back yards with tropical landscaping, computer and high-speed Internet, large flat screen TV, upright piano, DVD, etc. Road, mountain, and/or beach bikes at your disposal.

*We have 2 very sweet Rhodesian ridgeback-mix dogs and 2 cats. If we exchange within driving distance, we will probably bring the dogs with us, and your cat-friendly dog(s) will be welcome to stay at our house. If flying, all pets will remain at home. You will NOT have to take care of them, but you will need to live with and be kind to them. We look forward to meeting and spoiling your animal children!

Quartier

We live 4-1/2 blocks from one of the most peaceful beaches in San Diego, known for excellent surfing. We are 8 miles from lovely and historic Coronado, 15 miles from Downtown San Diego, and 5 miles from the U.S.-Mexico border. A great place to enjoy all San Diego has to offer without crowds and high prices.

Holly likes to joke that she has the best commute to work in the world: Ocean on the left, San Diego Bay on the right, and shirtless Navy Seals running down the middle! That describes the drive to Downtown San Diego, which takes about 20 minutes via the lovely Coronado Bridge.

Imperial Beach is probably the last uncrowded beach community in San Diego. We are the southern-most town in the U.S.! Perhaps the best attribute here is the weather--always temperate with no air conditioning necessary--followed by the wildlife, including our local family of wild parrots and dolphins off the coast. Or maybe it's the beautiful bike/walking/rollerblading path from here to historic Coronado and, if you want, across the ferry and the rest of the way around the bay.

If you want constant entertainment and late night partying, "IB" not the place for you. But we do have some fun local "dive bars," and our house and especially the yard are wonderful for throwing your own party if that's more your speed.

We are a married couple in our late 30s. David is an IT technician at the San Diego Airport and Holly sells advertising for the local alternative/events newspaper. We love travel, good food & wine, reading/writing, meeting new people, and animals. We look forward to meeting you!
