Maison

Beautiful old farm on two acres of vineyard in Cognac area. The house is very confortable while keeping old traditional features such as fireplaces and stone walls. There is a huge kitchen, a living room and a TV room. Our guests are free to use our computer with Internet access. From the house we enjoy an endless view on the vineyard.

Quartier

We live in a quiet hamlet, a few meters from a classified church. Several historic towns are closeby (Cognac is 17km away, Jonzac 16 and Saintes 25). Archeological sites, roman churches and castles abound in the area, as well as wine and cognac-makers. In Summer, these three towns feature music festivals (blues, classical and jazz) with many free outdoor concerts. Larger cities such as Bordeaux and La Rochelle are one hour away, and the beach is 40mn away. This is the perfect place for people who want to enjoy a peaceful and authenthic part of France.

À propos de nous

We are a small family of three who recently moved back to France after 15 years spent in America and Africa. Jan retired last year, Caroline is a translator and Anna goes to a one-classroom country school. Jan is from the US and we go to Wisconsin every Summer to visit his family. We have a cat that lives outside and comes to say hello from time to time. When we are away, our neighboor feeds the cat.

Destination

We are particularly interested in an exchange with a house in Door Peninsula, Wisconsin and mountain/beach areas of the US in July/August, but are open to any destination.

Potential long term exchange (school year) in an anglophone or francophone country, or in a city with a French or American school.
