Maison

The house has 6 different levels with 4 bedrooms, living- and dingroom, a new very elegant sit-in kitchen, the masterbedroom has a terrace overlooking the valley of Quito and the mountain Antisana. There is a yacuzzi for 8 people, a sauna and a steambath. In the lower floor there is a bar and a big television room. Also a patio with a barbeque place.
It is very quiet, after the rain you can hear the frogs, and from the diningroom you can watch hummingbirds.















Quartier

The view is gorgeous and having breakfast with the view on to the Andes is spectacular. In 20 minutes you are in the most beautiful colonial center of the 16th century. It is very well kept and rebuilt. There are theatres, a music hall and lots of museums. The historic center is a museum with many churches and monastries. The surroundings of Quito are beautiful, there is Otavalo with the Indian market, old haciendas, transformed into Restaurants and hotels, there is Papayacta with its thermal baths, Cotacachi - where the whole town works in leather, San Antonio de Ibarra, where the main artcraft is wood, Mindo, in the rainforest with its hummingbirds and orchyds. These are all 1 day excursions. Then it is a 6 hour drive to the beaches at the Pacific. Puerto Lopez with its wales during the months of June through September. And if you like mountain climbing you have many opportunities in the Andes. Not to forget the jungle with all its beauties and adventures.

À propos de nous

We are a retired couple, Ricardo a diplomat, who was assigned to Germany, Antwerp, New York and other places, Petra, a journalist in Germany up to this year, and we are still quite active. We love to travel, to get to know other countries and get in touch with the people of the foreign countries. We love landscapes, hike, beaches and read, discover restaurants with the typical food. We speak German, English and Spanish, a little French and Italien. We have not made homeexchanges before but we are curious and excited about it.

Destination

Since our son lives in Miami we would love to go there in December and January. In June we would love to go to Paris.
Also New York would be wonderful in Springtime. Since we are retired, we are quite flexible, only in December and January we are bound to go to Miami
