Maison

Our home is partly log construction with a bungalow making up the den and bedroom areas. Our garage and barn are attached to the house by the mudroom and 2nd bath. Our first bathroom boasts an old fashioned cast iron tub for your soaking pleasure and the 2nd bathroom has a spacious two man shower. We also have an outdoor shower for those hot days of summer or the brave soul in the winter:) Dishwasher, refrigerator, washer and dryer are some appliances available as well as flat screen TV, stereo, convection bake oven. Our home is at the end of a 2 km dead end dirt road with only one neighbour. Very little traffic. Situated on 16 acres of mixed forest, some of our oldest trees are 100 years plus. A magnificient view of the Bay of Fundy is a welcome treat after the hike through the walking trail to the top of our mountain. A variety of wildlife such as song birds, deer, raccoons, porcupine, and coyotes are local residents. The nearest town is 12km away and has a supermarket, banking facilities and garage stations, as well as several local restaurants. Our towns motto is "Bridgetown the Friendly Town Geets You!". Our gardens and small vineyard are manged organically without any synthetic pesticides or herbicides. We have two Arab horses, 2 dogs, 2 cats and three hens that lay eggs daily. The pets may be housed elsewhere for the swap if that is preferred. Please feel free to call with any questions.

Regards,
Kris Humphreys and Jason Denton

Quartier

Our Town consists of a population of just over 2000. The 12 km drive into town is through a winding mountain road which has spectacular views of both the Bay of Fundy to the North and the Annapolis Valley to the South. Bridgetown is a quiet rural town with the Annapolis River winding through. Several walking routes are laid out with plaquards explaining the local ship building history which Bridgetown is famous for. The End of the Line Pub is a converted Train Station with fantastic pub fare and locally brewed beer. There is a local supermarket and liquor store, pharmacy and fillinfg station.

À propos de nous

I am a Finance Manager at the local theme park in Annapolis Royal and my partner is a long haul truck driver. We enjoy sailing, gardening, cooking and wine making. When our children are finished school we hope to travel the world by sailboat. Cheese must be our absolute favourite food, so we are always on the lookout for new ones to try. My Grandmother grew up in Arnhem and I would love to get to the Netherlands to visit cousins who are still living there. We both are able to take time off in the winter months to travel(Dec-March), so would like a swap in the Meditteranean region to get some warm sunshine and good olives(our other favourite food). We both speak fluent English but would love to learn a new language.
