Maison

This is a great house for a family that wants to make short trips to Scotland’s countless beautiful scenic spots and still come home to utter convenience.

Our house is only 3 years old and is a 4 bedroom detached villa with reasonably sized front and rear gardens, by UK standards. It is currently set up to sleep 5 people however there is additional space to sleep at least another 1 person.

We have 1 en suite bathroom, 1 communal bathroom, 1 downstairs wc, living room, large kitchen and separate dining room. We also have a dishwasher, washer, tv, dvd, vhs, hi fi, wii, xbox 360, table football, bikes and other outdoor sports. Outside there is a patio area for entertaining complete with bbq and table/chairs.


Quartier

Dundee is Scotland’s fourth largest city, located on the East coast upon the banks of the River Tay, the longest river in Scotland. Dundee is very central to the majority of other historic Scottish cities, towns and villages and a return journey to many can be completed in a day. For instance, by car or public transport you can be in Edinburgh or Aberdeen within 1 hour, Glasgow within 1 ½ hours and Inverness/highland region or the English borders within 3 hours. Within all these cities, there is plenty of entertainment to be had from shopping and nightlife, sports and cultural festivals, sightseeing and hill walking, fishing and whisky brewery tours.

For the golf lovers, famous courses such as Carnoustie and St Andrews are within a 25 minute drive. Additionally there are hundreds of other beautiful courses within striking distance, after all this is Scotland ‘The Home of Golf’. Perhaps our ideal swapper may want to walk/climb some of the many Scottish Munros or the highest mountain in the UK, Ben Nevis. Also there are great trips to visit some of the famous castles, battlegrounds and hunt for the famous Loch Ness monster!

Dundee has good public transport links and is served by a small airport, train and bus stations. Alternatively International Airports are located within Glasgow and Edinburgh which are both served by all major carriers.

We are also located very close to the major arterial highway through Dundee and within 5 minutes there are a large amount of shops, cinema, ice rink, golf courses and a massive country play park which is great for the family. Within 15 minutes you can be on the local blue flag rated beach or in downtown Dundee checking out the shops, entertainment and Dundee’s infamous ‘Jam, Jute and Journalism’ history.

We are a young professional married couple, Kevin is a Wind Turbine Engineer and Elizabeth is a Primary School Teacher. We enjoy many outdoor pursuits and love to travel.

We have already successfully completed a house swap in Ottawa, Canada, and loved sharing our house, lifestyle and families and are actively looking for another swap. Ideally we are looking to arrange a swap in Canada or USA for 2-3 weeks in the Summer of 2011, preferably in late July to early August, due to work commitments.

We have a car which we could hopefully arrange to include into the house swap, if required.

Destination

We are open to swapping with someone in any regions of Canada, America or from within Europe. We can be slightly flexible upon dates and length of stay, however due to work commitments the best time for swapping is likely to be late July into early August.
