Maison

The house is newly completed - end July 2007. Located in Fortrose on the Black Isle near Inverness it is an ideal location for touring the Scottish Highlands. Castles, Loch Ness, beaches, mountains and forests are all nearby. We have wonderful views onto the Moray Firth. It is all on one level so is ideal for anyone with mobility problems. It is south-facing, compact, bright and cosy. We have French doors onto a low deck facing the sea from the dining room, sunroom and master bedroom. To the rear there is another more private decked area with a large table and barbeque/patio heater.
The house has full underfloor heating run by a ground source heat pump and a solar panel on the roof. We have a full house ventilation system and triple glazing. The lounge has a wood stove for cosy evenings by the fire.

Quartier

We are a few minutes walk from the centre of Fortrose. An historic town with a ruined 11th century cathedral and a small harbour. There is a golf course situated on a promontory of land jutting into the firth. It has a very quiet friendly atmosphere. Inverness is only 15 minutes away by car. There is a bus service from the main street.

We are Mike a retired head teacher and Maureen a semi-retired ICT professional. We enjoy the great outdoors by walking, cycling, skiing, canoeing, camping and caravanning.
