Maison

The apartment is on the ground floor of a 4-unit apartment building, built in 2004. It consists of 4 bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen, a living room, a small laundry room and a storage. View to mountains and sea. Very nice neighbors.

Quartier

The neighborhood consists mostly of apartment buildings and houses. It is new and quiet, the residents being a mixture of elderly people and young families. There is a park only 2 km away with very nice paths for walking and hiking. A swimming pool (water park), botanical garden and golf course within easy walking distance. A short walk to public transportation (which is free of charge). Akureyri is the largest town in Northern Iceland, breathing with life and cultural activities (theatre, jazz gigs, concerts, art festivals, etc.), but free of city stress. Some of Iceland's most beautiful spots are within an hour's drive from Akureyri.

My name is Helgi and I work as a translator. My wife, Anna, is a therapist for the disabled. We have 3 children, a boy (b. 1996) and twins, a boy and a girl, born in 1998. We enjoy traveling and the kids love seeing new places and meeting new people.

Destination

The exchange doesn't necessarily have to be simultaneous, and although we are only looking for a place to stay for a few days, guests are welcome to stay at our house while we are away (3-4 weeks). We are looking for places in Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota and/or Alberta.
