Charming 2 bedroom apartment (66m2) with wood laminate floors in the living room (sofa bed in living room sleeps 2) and bedrooms (each with a full size bed); ceramic tile in the bathroom, seperate wc, kitchen and laundry room. Fully equipped kitchen (except no dishwasher); large television with dvd player; stereo system; high speed internet connection; quiet and calm neighborhood; 1 covered parking place.
Non-simultaneous exchange possible (échange non-simultané possible).
Possibility to use our car during stay (open for discussion).

Quartier

Although we are not far from downtown Biarritz, this is a quiet neighborhood. Since it's a one way street, there's not much car traffic; it's a short walk to the "boulangerie" (bakery) and les halles (Biarritz's covered food market). Walking just 5 minutes, you'll have a fantastic view of the Basque coastline - on a clear day you can see all the way to Hondarribia (Fontarrabie) in Spain. It's an ideal location for a weekend getaway or extended vacation whether you like hiking, biking, swimming or just kicking back with a good book on the beach. Biarritz is 45 minutes drive from San Sebastian, Spain. Bordeaux is 2 hours by train or roughly 3 by car (the train is definitely the best bet). Airports: Biarritz and also the San Sebastian airport (which is actually located in Irun).

À propos de nous

We are a married couple in our early 40's - Christi is American and Jean Pierre is French (as if you had any doubts...); we have a cat (who stays with his "grandparents" when we're on vacation); we like bicycling, movies, concerts and we love to cook (i.e. our kitchen is well equipped for this very reason).
I am a freelance translator/interpreter and my husband is an industrial electrician.
We also scuba dive - the Basque coast has quite a few interesting dive sites.

Destination

this can be a non-simultaneous exchange since the apartment in Biarritz is our second home
- we're mainly interested in a home exchange outside of France
