Maison

Custom built redwood home on hillside with 100 stair steps down to private cove. Two hundred and fifty feet of waterfront with lakeside dock, firepit and sleeping porch and ski boat on lake lift. Large wrap around deck with outdoor hot tub perched above lake. Home faces nothwest with sunset view in summer and Schweitzer Ski area directly above lake. Covered deck with barbeque next to dinning room. Home has wood/lodgelike feel with hardwood floors and exposed beams. Entry level has large rock fireplace, vaulted ceilings, kitchen with custom cabinetry open to dinning room and sunken livingroom and master bedroom with connecting bathroom/steamroom. Downstairs has 3 bedrooms, full bathroom and large play room with foldout couch. All but one bedroom have full lake view. Hydronic heating system with wood stove back up. Separate 3 stall garage. Very private setting surrounded by large douglas fir and cedar trees.

Quartier

Huge lake and mountains provide great outdoor recreation. Eight miles (or two miles by boat)to quaint artsy ski town of Sandpoint with excellent restaurants. Daily views from home of raptor fishing-eagles in winter and osprey in summer. Rural setting with hiking out backdoor. Neighbors homes are not in view. Walks along paved winding road cut into side of mountain with lake view.

À propos de nous

Semi retired attorney and fully retired wife who was assistant for local surgeon. We searched the northwest for a place with quality year around recreation and progressive lifestyle in mid 70s and found it in Sandpoint. In 1985 we built our dream home where we raised our son and daughter. Now we are "empty nesters" and ready to travel.

Destination

Non simultaneous exchange with ours available Dec. 8-20, 2008. We are flexible on dates. We are interested in east coast urban exchange close to Manhattan or Boston, but will consider anyplace. We have done several exchanges and they have been great for all involved.
