Maison

This cottage is part of a two year old resort of 30 cottages, plus a marina, bistro, and two swimming pools. There is a manager on site. The cottage overlooks the ocean. There is a gas fireplace, comfortable and attractive furnishings, a queen-size bed in the master bedroom (which also overlooks the ocean) and two single beds in the second bedroom. The kitchen is modern, with microwave, dishwasher, etc., as well as all necessary dishes and utensils. There is a large deck with a gas BBQ and teak lounge chairs, as well as a teak table and chairs for dining. The view is south west, and the deck is partially shaded by beautiful arbutus trees. From the deck you can see the ferries go by, and dock 5 minutes from the cottage.

Quartier

Pender Island is a jewel in the Gulf Islands. There are abundant wildlife, including deer, eagles, seals, otters, and the whales migratory pattern passes right in front of the resort. There is wonderful shopping on the island, and everything you need is available within a short drive, including a wonderful bookstore, several artisan's shops and gift shops, a pharmacy, an upscale supermarket with organic produce, a liquor store, and gas station. There are several first-class restaurants on the island providing meals made from fresh ingredients. If you are a diver or a fisherman, it is possible to hire a boat and guide for world-class diving in the marine park just off the island, with sunken wrecks, or fishing all through the gulf. There's a weekly farmer's market, as well as other local events. the resort itself has two swimming pools, a bistro, a kids play area, a large grassy lawn, and there are kayaks available for paddling, with a guide if you choose.

I am a clinical psychologist with a 20 year-old daughter (who sometimes travels with me). I also have a male friend of 10 years, who is the principal in an environmental company, and often travels with me. I have two Welsh Corgis, but I don't take them with me when I travel! I don't smoke, I enjoy being active, eating well, and exploring and seeing the sights. I only speak English, but can decipher written French if necessary! I love art and music and occassionally shopping.

Destination

As this is my cottage, and not my primary home, this does not need to be a simultaneous exchange. The cottage is available one week a month, and for a two-week period in July.
