THIS DESIGNER COUNTRY HOME features pastoral views of the rolling countryside from every window. Nestled between Petoskey and Charlevoix, you are ideally located to enjoy northern Michigan’s summer waterfront or winter sports playground.

This new, 3 bedroom 2 ½ bath home features hardwood floors, 10’ beamed ceilings, an open floor plan with an island kitchen, a great room with a fireplace and a large French farm table with seating for eight. There also is a powder bath and laundry room on the first floor. The carpeted second floor features a master suite with a garden tub, tile shower and a king size pillow top mattress. The second bedroom has a queen bed and the third bedroom has two bunk beds. These rooms share a Jack-and-Jill bathroom with dual vanities.

Enjoy watching Great Blue Herons, Swans, Geese and Ducks on the back yard pond as you prepare dinner on the gas grill, roast marshmallows in the covered fire pit under the stars or rock your cares away on the wrap-around front porch. There are two mountain bikes and two Kayaks for your enjoyment.

CLOSE TO THE WATERFRONT – Located between Charlevoix and Petoskey, this new neighborhood is surrounded by rolling country side and ponds. Downing’s Gate at Rolling Meadows Preserve is located one mile from Lake Michigan and the seventeen mile long bicycle path which runs along the Lake Michigan shoreline between Charlevoix and Harbor Springs. Public access on Walloon Lake is one mile away and five miles away on Lake Charlevoix. The Young State Park, Petoskey State Park and Wilderness State Parks boast some of the finest beaches in the world and a place to search for the native 'Petoskey Stone.' World class restaraunts and amenities are within easy reach at Boyne Mountain Resort, Boyne Highlands Resort and Bay Harbor Resort, featuring golf, skiing, spas, fine dining and shopping. As a historic resort region, Charlevoix, Petoskey and Harbor Springs are the picture of upscale, small town charm with abundant art galleries, antique shops and boutiques. Nearby performaning arts centers and regional wineries provide world-class cultural opportunities.

Jean Rene is an architect who travels between kitchen and bath design practices in Secaucus, New Jersey and Petoskey, Michigan. Lynne is an interior designer who works, consults and writes nationally on green design. Lynne and J.R. share a love of Jazz, Spa treatments, bicycling and world travel. A healthy lifestyle which includes Pilates keeps us fit. Our children (ages 13, 16 and 18) keep us grounded. During the school year, our home is the gathering place for our children and their friends with shared bonfires, swims, kayaks, music, movies, and laughter. We all share a curiosity about the world and LOVE to travel for culture and adventure.

Destination

During the summer months, my children are with their father and I am often traveling for work, which places the home vacant during the peak season in Northern Michigan. During the school year, they are also with their father three weekends a month and we are available to travel during winter and spring breaks, so, non-simultaneous exchanges can be arranged.
