Maison

Our home has wonderful views from just about all rooms in the house. It is a modern home with modern facilities and in addition with a one bedroom flat that will sleep 3. We have a very private pool with solar heating. Plenty of verandahs around the house. We are close to the railway and have a ferry just about 50 mtrs from the door. the bus stop is at the end of the street. We are surrounded by beautiful beaches and very close to the famous Hunter Valley by car you can also go to Morpeth an additional 45 mins, about 1hr 15mins. A train to the city of Sydney takes about 1hr 15mins and from there you can go to the fish markets or to Manly by ferry and all over Sydney by bus. We will require that pot plants be watered throughout your stay.

Quartier

We love our life at Empire Bay as a short trip to Sydney takes us to any or the current live show, the Opera House and the Museums. It is a very quiet area but with the advantage of transport by sea road or rail. There are no shortage of bush walks throughout the area and the views are to die for. Any artist or photographer would give their eye teeth for this type of material to paint or photograph. Just down the corner is a newagents general store, a Post Office, a Bottle Shop fish & chip hamburger shop so that you never run out of the important things in life. We have great shopping centres , the closest about 8mins by car. The larger of our shopping centres boasts its own ice rink. We also have our own live theatre groups at very reasonable prices. The is a picture theatre at Ettalong about 5 mins from home and a number of really nice restraurants. The Ettalong Memorial Club has good food and live shows each week also.
We play Bocce at our Progress Hall once a month and if you are lucky enough to be here when Bocce is on you would be welcomed by our community, and all you need do is take a plate of food to share and it will cost the princely sum of $2 ea.

We are now retired but Brian was an engineer and I was a Social Worker. My husband can turn his had to just about anything but he really loves fishing. I am a crafty person, I love art and quilting, also scrapbooking. Sadly we only speak English, one of our great regrets but we have travelled widely and can make our needs known in Italian. We have over the years had many overseas students and teachers stay with us and we have enjoyed their cultures very much. It was as much a learning experience for us as for them.

Destination

We have a 1 bedroom flat so you would be welcome to visit and stay in the flat at any time. We could act a tour guids for some of your stay. As we are so accessable to Sydney we catch the train and ferries around so can assist with this or come with you and show you around. We also have addition bedrooms in our home that are set up for guests so we can provide a home stay situation with continental breakfast thrown in.
