Maison

A recently renovated Wellington villa in the heart of the vibrant capital city of New Zealand.

Our 3 bedroom home has been recently renovated and is a warm, homely place. There are 3 rooms in the house with wonderful sun (especially in the living area). We have a large open living space where the kitchen, dining, lounge and outdoor area is all next to each other.

We are 3 minutes walk from the Wellington zoo and at the doorstep of some wonderful forest walks, and a stroll into the local shops. The main Wellington city centre is 15 minutes by bus, 8 min by car, or 30 minutes by foot.

There is a separate unit that can sleep 2. It is 20 metres away from the main house but also has its own bathroom, kitchen etc.

Quartier

We are minutes away from quirky shops in Newtown (central Wellington suburb), minutes from the "zoo path" (a walk we take our daughter on often which winds through pine trees, hills, parks and of course goes around the zoo!).

The bus stop is 5 minutes walk away and it takes you directly into the city. We have wonderful neighbours. My business partner lives two doors away and he'd be glad to help you out with anything. Our immediate neighbours have two kids who are adorable and our street is a quiet one way street (you only come down here if you live on the street).

We are minutes away from the beach (Lyall bay) and mountains (Tararua ranges). Wellington is a vibrant cultural and adventurous city that is really accessible to many things - the South Island is a ferry ride away (3 hours) or a cheap domestic flight away. The airport is literally 15 minutes from our house (or 7 when there is no traffic).

Sam (IT entreprenuer), Kathryn (at home mother) and Kyra (the most gorgeous 16 month old girl you've met!) are all round good guys. We love travel, learning about new cultures and meeting people from all over the place.

Sam started one of NZ's fastest growing companies and is looking to take a few more holidays so that he doesn't miss out on his daughter growing up.

Kathryn works part time as an analyst, having worked for the NZ government and non-profit organisations in the past. She currently works for a Refugee services organisation.

Kyra loves saying no, picking up dead bugs, stuffing her face with any food and generally playing with her toys.

Destination

We are quite keen to travel as soon as possible! We just decided today that we'd love to go somewhere and we can go in two weeks time! The only catch is that we need to be back by mid October 2008.

Tempt us. We are open to any location as we're not really set on any one place but prefer Europe at this stage.
