Upon entering our home is a vaulted formal living room with luxury furnishings (sofa is a queen sized sleeper sofa) and lovely antique bar, and staircase leading upstairs. The first floor has hardwood floors and is decorated in neutral, calming colors. The guest room on the first floor has a very comfortable, newer queen sized bed and walk in closet. Right across the hall is the first floor bathroom with large shower. Around the corner is another open living room with a beautiful Yamaha piano, a 42 inch flat screen LCD high definition tv with satellite cable above the gas fireplace, a Wii for family games, and a cabinet of board games. The room is furnished with new modern furnishings. This living room is open to the gourmet kitchen with breakfast bar center island which seats 3, walk in pantry and ample gourmet cooking supplies. The dining table in the breakfast nook is surrounded by windows and seats 6-8 people. A back door leads to the patio and fully fenced back yard. On the patio is a 7X7 foot hottub.
Upstairs is the master bdrm. with king bed and master bath with huge soaker tub and separate shower and double sinks and walk in closet. Down the hall are the three kids rooms, each with twin beds, one with twin bunkbed, and a shared full bath with shower/tub.
Our home has views of the foothills and of our local ski hill, Bogus Basin. Our large yard is professionally landscaped. It is a lovely, large home in a higher end subdivision.
For vehicles choose between the family friendly large SUV, a Toyota Sequoia which seats 8, or the luxury Lexus SC400 car.

Quartier

Our neighborhood is a lovely subdivision in West Boise with larger homes, professionally manicured landscaping, a central park with playground equipment and walking paths, and a sand volleyball area. The streets are safe with children often riding bikes and scooters or playing outside. Neighbors gather to chat in the evenings and lots of families can be found walking their dogs or riding bikes to the store which is half a mile away. There is a video rental, music, bookstore closeby, and many strip malls with restaurants, shops, pharmacy, etc. Two major grocery stores and a couple of bars round out the shopping district which is a short walk away. There is also a public library just a up the road.
West Boise has easy access to the Boise Connector, which makes commuting to downtown and East Boise very easy. It is a ten minute drive to downtown from our home, and about twenty minutes to East Boise and the university, Boise State.
Boise is home to live sporting events (indoor football, basketball and our championship hockey team, as well as our baseball team, the Boise Braves). But the real draw to Boise is our fabulous outdoors! Surrounded by foothills and rivers, it's a lovely place for hiking, trail riding, kayaking or just taking a leasure tubing trip down the river.
Downtown has the lovely outdoor Saturday Farmer's and Art Market every week, as well as many other outdoor activities, including Live After 5 every Wednesday evening, which includes beer gardens, food venders and live music. First Thursday is the monthly art showing where shops and galleries stay open til 9 downtown with food, wine and live music for the art and shopping lovers.
Restaurants are a huge part of Northwestern life, and Boise is no exception. We are proudly home to amazing restaurants. Visiting downtown is an experience in itself for the cafe, gourmet food, bar lover. Boise also has it's own award winning microbrewery and also a distillery downtown. Also you will find many museums.

À propos de nous

My family of five has been happily settled in Boise for nearly 20 years. My husband is an engineer, and I am a housewife who works from home as a freelance journalist and writer. Our three children are ages 13, 11 and 8. We have two indoor dogs, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Long Coated Chihuahua.
I am a gourmet cook, and with my work often write food reviews. I know every aspect of the city for shopping, eating out, activities, and my husband is an expert outdoorsman, knowledgable in hiking trails, skiing, camping and general outdoor exploring.
Both my husband and I have traveled may places around the world, but since we had kids our travels have slowed down, although at times my husband does travel extensively for his work. He recently visited Berlin, Germany, and has been sent to different countries in Asia and to Mexico a few times in the past few years. But the extent of our family travel is limited to the Pacific Northwest. We'd love to do a house swap so our children can have the opportunity to travel with us to exciting, new places.
I am also a musician, a classical pianist and composer, so music is a huge part of our household as well. We have satellite radio and music all over our house!
Mostly we are just very family oriented. My husband is an athlete who played soccer all through college and afterwards, and is very involved in team sports still, twenty years later. So you'll always see us outside in warm weather, playing sports with our kids or riding our bikes through the neighborhood. We were drawn to this subdivision because it is such a safe place for the kids, and because most our neighbors are active like us as well.
My husband and I also like to collect art and we have a wide range of original artwork in our home from paintings to sculpture.
We believe in good, healthy living - and that everything in moderation is a good philosophy. We appreciate the finer things in life - art, food, beer, wine, music, movies, nature, fun!
