Maison

The apartment is 1750 square feet (160m2) and has been newly fitted out in March 2008 with high quality kitchen, spa room, shower room and hideaway laundry.
We have views of the City and hills and sun from early morning to late afternoon. There are two lifts to our floor and a private entrance loby to our apartment, lifts can be locked off for security and privacy.

Quartier

Our Capital City is quite small compared to most other Capital Cities but very beautiful with the City built around a lovely harbour.
As our street is in the middle of the City the neighbourhood is a mixture of business, entertainment,hotels, cafes,restaurants and very good shopping on what is called the Golden Mile. This is the main three streets that run through the City .
Our enjoyment of Wellington city living includes being within minutes walking distance of all the above ammenities and the lively atmosphere of the waterfront which has wide walkways with cafes, bars, yacht harbour and a very small innercity beach called Oriental Bay where people come out to catch the sun,walk dogs and babies , ride bikes and generally enjoy our city and harbour. Public transport is good and there are ferries that cross to the South Island every day from the harbour front , this is a glorious , aprox 3 hour, boat trip through 'The Sounds' to the top of the Sth Island , a town called Picton. Our apartment is 5 minutes by bus to railway station for trains to all other parts of the country, for skiing 2 1/2 hours, wine growing country 1 1/2 hours. A bus service also covers major towns and cities.

We are a married couple basically retired although my husband has commercial property interests. We enjoy travel and have done this over many years. Husband is a golfer and I am a reader and enjoy good movies. We both enjoy walking and discovering new cities and their people. We are very considerate and respectful of other people's homes and property.

Destination

Our destination is New York and the dates are flexible but we need to be there for the period October 1st to 4 th 2009. The exchange would need to be simultaneous but other than the above dates we are flexible.
