Maison

Our house was built in 1996. It is a modern and typical Languedoc villa, 160 m2, with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, livingroom, kitchen, study room.... Upstairs you find 3 bedrooms one for each daughter (with a vew of the sea from one room). The first floor is divided in two parts : i) living room, illuminated by 4 picture windows, and connected with a modern kitchen where we usually have our meal ; ii) the "parents space" with bedroom, bathroom and a study room (computer, internet point). Interior decoration combinates old furniture (XVIII and XIX centuries, piano) and modern equipment. We have solar heating and a fireplace. Our garden (400 m2) is nice with two terraces, mediterranean trees (olive tree, almond tree, fig tree, vines,...) and mediterranean lawn. Our garage is wide but mostly used to keep bikes and all sort of things... we also have a barbecue

Quartier

We live in Murviel, considerated as one of the most beautifull villages close to Montpellier. Murviel was an important romain city (2000 years ago) but it is now small (1600 inhabitants), very quiet and safety. Our house is located between romain ruins, medieval center (XIIth century houses, church and castle) and sports facilities (tennis, foot-ball, basket, club-house, skate park...). Countryside is lovely and varied, with vineyards, olive trees, woods and many footpathes for long walks. Wine production is wellknown, with 7 estates. Murviel is also famous for its cultural life (theater). The village is only 12 kilometers from Montpellier (20 mn from the center), with many bus connections. Montpellier is a very dynamic city in south of France (culture, high technology, university, airport...) and the region is one of the sunniest region of France. Seaside is 15 km south (20 mn from the beach "Les Aresquier"). We are also closed to historical and touristic sites, as "St Guillhem le Desert". Nimes, Arles, Aigues Mortes, Avignon or Carcassonne could be reached in one hour by the highway (connections 5 km from Murviel). Murviel is now searched by upper class families, but local goverment wishes to really maintain a social diversity (wine growersfamily, middle class...) wich allows a more enriching local life. Murviel gathers advantages from both proximity of Montpellier and mediterranean rural life.

À propos de nous

We are 5. Isabelle and Jean-Marc (parents), Camille, Inés, Adèle (the 3 daughters). Isabelle, 44 old, is working in the agronomic university, managing a team of experts in rural development and capacity building for tropical countries. Jean-Marc is also 44 old. He is researcher at the national institute for agronomic research. Camille, 19 old, is studying history and political science at the university. Inés, 16, and Adèle, 13, are studying at secondary school. We enjoy travelling : last years, we have travelled to Guatemala, Italy, Cameroon, Spain, Marrocco, Antillas... We also enjoy our local mediterranean life : during week ends, Isabelle is cultivating 100 olive trees and make our own oil, when Jean Marc is helping archeologist on the romain ruins or sailing on the mediterranean sea with an old ship he bought with friends... We are also involved in local associations working on culture and environmental protection.
