Maison

1900 sq. foot luxury condo on the 6th floor with large balcony overlooking the Gulf of Mexico in upscale Destin, Florida. Fully outfitted kitchen, laundry, 3 king bedrooms, 2 en-suite baths with whirlpools and showers, 1 bath with tub/shower. 1 person sofa bed in one of the bedrooms and a queen sofa bed in the living room--recommended for the kids. Seaglass corian countertops in the kitchen which includes all types of cookware and a jenn-air convection oven, french-door fridge and dishwasher. Gas grills located at the beach level. Decor is purely old Florida with turquoise, coral and yellow with saltillo tile in the living areas. You can find the general website at www.sterlingsands.com.
Notice, this is a vacation rental and we can't exchange during May-August. Nor does this have to be a simultaneous exchange.

Quartier

Golfing, boating, fishing, swimming, eating great seafood and shopping are the highpoints of Destin for adults while digging in the sand and searching for sand crabs with flashlights are highpoints for the kids. You will find Starbucks, Barnes and Noble, Bass Pro Shop, Wal-mart, PF Chang's and other chain stores in the area. But you will also find lots of local fare. There is a great discount mall, Baytowne Wharf, Seaside, the harbour for deep sea fishing boat charters, and lots more. But, nothing comes close to sitting or walking on the beach with the most beautiful turquoise water you have ever seen stretching beyond the horizon.
The weather is normally very sunny with cooler weather beginning late October. It rarely dips to 50-55 degrees F during the day in November/Dec/Jan, even more rarely dipping lower . The "snowbirds" stay in shorts and swim in the lightly heated pool.
Destin can be reached via Atlanta (5 hours drive) Pensacola (1 hours drive) or VPS airport at Fort Walton /Valpiriso (30 min). There are flights from Atlanta to VPI or Pensacola.

We are a professional couple in our 50's and work in the aerospace industry . We love to travel, have friends in Europe and NZ, do not smoke, would rather not take care of pets if we exchange, have teen and adult nieces (4)/nephew (1)we enjoy travelling with occasionally--normally not together.
